Week 13 NFL Picks
3 Blowouts Down, 13 Games To Go In Week 13 [NFL Picks]

Thanksgiving Day gave us 3 blowouts, but hopefully Sunday's games will be a bit more interesting. The holiday games were won by an average of 30 points, and the winning teams were winning by an average of 20 points at halftime. Here's the Sunday version of NFL picks for week 13.

New York Giants at Washington Redskins [85% of FanIQ picked the Giants]
The defending champs look as good as any team in football right now, and are in the top 5 in both total offense and total defense. The Redskins are a bit inconsistent, but have at least shown that they can hang in there with any other team. In the first game of the season, the Giants beat the Redskins 16-7. This one should be a lot more high scoring. My pick: Giants 27, Redskins 17.

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills [87% picked the Bills]
In the early 1990's, this would be a marquee matchup. Now, however, it's a battle between a Bills team on the rise, and a 49ers team mired in a half decade of mediocrity. With one more loss, the 49ers will clinch their 5th straight losing season. Sunday looks like the day that will happen. My pick: Bills 38, 49ers 20.

Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals [93% picked the Ravens]
The Ravens still have one of the better defenses in the league. The Bengals have one of the worst. This one should have been played on Thanksgiving, because it will be a blowout like the rest of them. My pick: Ravens 34, Bengals 13

Indianapolis Colts at Cleveland Browns [94% picked the Colts]
The Browns season is officially in the toilet. After deciding that the Brady Quinn era would begin, Quinn immediately responded with a broken finger that looks like it will keep him out for the rest of the season. Now that Derek Anderson is back at the helm, genius/lame duck head coach Romeo Crennel announced that Quinn will be the starter next season. What a mess. My pick: Colts 31, Browns 24

Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers [61% picked the Panthers]
The Packers looked awful against the Saints last week, but the Panthers looked equally bad in a key matchup against the falcons. As both teams look to rebound, I think the home field advantage will be the difference in this one. My pick: Packers 22, Panthers 21

Denver Broncos at New York Jets [89% picked the Jets]
These two teams have dangerous passing attacks, as the maturation of Jay Cutler is coinciding with the rejuvenation of Brett Favre. The problem for the Broncos is that the Jets also have Thomas Jones, who has been playing extremely well as of late. My pick: Jets 34, Broncos 24

Pittsburgh Steelers at New England Patriots [63% picked the Steelers]
Matt Cassel is on fire, throwing for 400+ yards in his last two games. He leads his Steelers counterpart in passing yards, completion percentage, passer rating, more TD's, less INT's, etc. But will he be able do that against the stout Steelers defense? We'll see. My pick: Patriots 17, Steelers 13

Miami Dolphins at St Louis Rams [94% picked the Dolphins]
Jim Haslett needs 2 more wins for a chance to save his job. The Dolphins are the most improved team in football, and will use this game as a great way to rebound from a lackluster performance last week against the Patriots. My pick: Dolphins 42, Rams 24

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers [71% picked the Bucs]
The Saints thrashed the Packers last week, but will face a much different (and better) team in the Buccaneers. The Tampa defense won't allow nearly as many points as the Packers did, and will be able to effectively eliminate the Saints' division hopes. My pick: Bucs 27, Saints 23

Atlanta Falcons at San Diego Chargers [51% picked the Falcons]
The Chargers were one of the preseason Super Bowl favorites, but have fallen far short of expectations this year. At 4-7, they are basically staving off playoff elimination at this point, and it may already be too late for them to make a run. A win here against the Falcons would help, but that's not even likely at this point. Even if they win out, there's a great chance they'll be staying home for the playoffs. My pick: Falcons 28, Chargers 27

Kansas City Chiefs at Oakland Raiders [70% picked the Raiders]
If it were possible for both of these teams to lose this game, then it would happen. Since it's not, the Raiders will probably take it. As bad as they are, they trounced the Broncos last week in a shocker, and should be able to at least equal that against the Chiefs, who are about as bad as anyone. My pick: Raiders 34, Chiefs 13

Sunday Night Football: Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings [53% picked the Vikings]
In what should be a competitive game, the Bears travel to Minnesota to play the Vikings in a matchup where the winner will sit alone atop the NFC North. My pick: Vikings 22, Bears 16

Monday Night Football: Jacksonville Jaguars at Houston Texans [67% picked the Jaguars]
The Jaguars and Texans both come into this one with 4-7 records, and already well out of contention for their division. Which team will care more? That's probably the only thing that will determine a winner. My pick: Texans 25, Jaguars 23
