Week 14 NFL Predictions

The Chargers Never Lose In December. The Cowboys, Not So Much. So What Will Happen? [Week 14 NFL Predictions]

12/10/09 in NFL   |   Pat   |   5235 respect

FanIQ 's predictions went 10-6 last week, and my personal predictions were 9-7... a terrible week overall, especially after going 13-3 the week before. At any rate, time to take care of this week's picks. Here they are:

Thursday Night Football

Steelers at Browns
FanIQ pick: Steelers 27, Browns 14
My pick: Steelers 25, Browns 17
-The Steelers are playing terribly right now, but the Browns are just terrible ALL the time.

Sunday 1:00

Panthers at Patriots
FanIQ pick: Patriots 27, Panthers 18
My pick: Patriots 23, Panthers 17
-This Patriots team will reveal a lot in this game. If they win by 10 points or less (or lose, God forbid), it will show that they really aren't as resilient as they have been in the past. If the "real" Patriots team shows up, this one should be in the bag by halftime. We'll see.

Bills at Chiefs
FanIQ pick: Bills 20, Chiefs 18
My pick: Chiefs 23, Bills 17
-These are 2 awful teams, but I'm leaning towards the home team.

Bengals at Vikings
FanIQ pick: Vikings 27, Bengals 22
My pick: Bengals 24, Vikings 23
-The Vikings are struggling a bit, and I believe the Bengals will be able to pull it off on the road, thanks to at least one Ochocinco TD.

Broncos at Colts
FanIQ pick: Colts 28, Broncos 21
My pick: Broncos 17, Colts 14
-The Colts haven't seen a defense like the Broncos, and the pressure of 16-0 will eventually get to them. This might be the week.

Seahawks at Texans
FanIQ pick: Texans 23, Seahawks 19
My pick: Texans 27, Seahawks 17
-Even with Steve Slaton out for the year, the Texans will rebound from last week's loss to the Jaguars, and keep their waning playoff hopes barely alive for one more week.

Lions at Ravens
FanIQ pick: Ravens 26, Lions 14
My pick: Ravens 33, Lions 13
-This is the week for the Ravens to really step up and beat down on a terrible Lions team. Daunte Culpepper is not going to enjoy his chance to start.

Saints at Falcons
FanIQ pick: Saints 31, Falcons 19
My pick: Saints 30, Falcons 20
-This might have been the Saints' toughest game, but with Matt Ryan and Michael Turner hobbled, I think they'll be fine for now.

Jets at Buccaneers
FanIQ pick: Jets 24, Buccaneers 16
My pick: Jets 17, Buccaneers 14
-This game could get ugly, but I think that Kellen Clemens will be a welcome relief for the Jets. He's not nearly as bad as they made him seem, with their revolving door of replacements.

Packers at Bears
FanIQ pick: Packers 25, Bears 19
My pick: Packers 38, Bears 17
-This game features two of the worst offensive lines in football. But with all of the Bears' issues, this almost doesn't seem fair. Aaron Rodgers is going to have a great day.

Dolphins at Jaguars
FanIQ pick: Dolphins 20, Jaguars 19
My pick: Jaguars 23, Dolphins 20
-Don't let that Patriots game fool you, these Dolphins still aren't all that good.

Sunday 4:00

Redskins at Raiders
FanIQ pick: Redskins 21, Raiders 20
My pick: Raiders 26, Redskins 13
-I have utmost faith in Bruce Gradkowski. Seriously.

Rams at Titans
FanIQ pick: Titans 26, Rams 14
My pick: Titans 26, Rams 20
-Chris Johnson and Steven Jackson should both do well in this one.

Chargers at Cowboys
FanIQ pick: Cowboys 23.9, Chargers 23.8
My pick: Chargers 30, Cowboys 23
-It's December. Need I say more?

Sunday Night Football

Eagles at Giants
FanIQ pick: Eagles 25, Giants 23
My pick: Giants 24, Eagles 20
-Nothing in the NFC East is as it seems. Both teams played great last week, but I think the Giants are a little more desperate, and have home field.

Monday Night Football

Cardinals at 49ers
FanIQ pick: Cardinals 26, 49ers 21
My pick: Cardinals 31, 49ers 13
-The Cardinals are just too good right now. They'll lock up the division this week.

Olny won because of to many injures

ypu wish they will upset the colts

I wouldnt put the Bengals over the Vikings, not in the Metrodome anyways. They play awful good football at that place and I dont think the Bengal's offense can do much against this defense. I know thier coverage is average to say the least, but Palmer hasn't been performing very well lately either. Vikings win this game by at least 4 points.

i am late to the picks and wont pile on to the steeler fans, (i picked them over the browns). I do think Denver has a good shot at winning Sunday. Does it really matter if Indy goes 16-0 to 12-4? They will lose in the playoffs as USUAL. Name me a qb who chokes more in the playoffs than Peyote?

I think the Cowboys vs. Chargers is the GOTW. Both good records and both need a win in the baddest of ways. Tough one for the boys but you know I'll still be pulling for them. DAL-27 SD- 24

It could have been the game the NFL flexed out for the Sunday Night matchup, but the Giants and Eagles are battling it out Sunday Night. Chargers and Cowboys are starting at 1:15 Pacific so the the game will be just finishing before that night game...It's going to be a battle!!!

So much faith in Brucey that the Redskins don't even register a zero? Nice. So I'm not alone...

I think this is the only time I have EVER and I mean EVER said it that way. And yes the Brown's have always found a way to lose to the Steelers, but the Steelers have invented new ways to beat themselves this year, little concerned.

Since they're playing the Browns who they haven't lost to since 2003, this is one time I'm gonna say SHUT UP!

Like that means a DAMN thing the way they have been playing. But they better not lose.

the redskins are so bad, they can't even get a score? not even a zero?

Don't be so quick to pick AZ over SF. Since they joined the same division in 2002, the team that won the 1st game of the season won the 2nd game of the season in 6 of the 7 seasons (and SF won in week 1 this season).

And in the 15 total games they've played each other since 2002, the average margin of victory has been around 5 points. Something like 10 of those 15 games have been decided by less than 5 points and around 6-7 of them by 3 points or less.

AZ vs SF has been one of the most competitive rivalries of this decade, and I think it will be another very close game on MNF this week.

The Lions are a horrible team, haven't won on the road in over 2 years, and now they are going to Baltimore. Ouch.

Pat come on man Phins have come sooo dreadfully close to beating the two unbeaten teams.I think they are good but they cant close it out. Experience will change that. Yours truly has a pair o' tickets to that Jag vs Phins game row EE section 137. I shall watch my phins win joyously.

The Bolts are 3 point dogs so far this weekend...The Cowboys will have to bring their "A" game though because the Chargers passing game is "On Fire" right now...

Oh...And I'm hoping that the Bolts can change that December No Loss Moniker to a "Chargers Never Lose In January" label...And Never Lose in February too...
