Week 16 NFL Live Thread: Playoff Previews Galore, And Steelers vs Titans For Home Field
Can The Titans Hold On To The #1 Seed In The AFC? It's Been A Rough Few Weeks [NFL Live Thread]
READ MORE:
NFL

The Titans and Steelers meet today in the marquee matchup of the day. Tonight's game between the Giants and Panthers is also important, but that's for a different post altogether.

James Harrison (above) will be patrolling for the Steelers, and aims to make it tough for Tennessee to move the ball. He's having an MVP-caliber season, and is a huge reason why the Steelers have been so strong on defense this year.

Here's the complete list of games for today:

1:00 EST
*****Arizona Cardinals at New England Patriots [80% of FanIQ picked the Patriots to win]
*****Pittsburgh Steelers at Tennessee Titans [63% picked the Steelers]
San Francisco 49ers at St Louis Rams [89% picked the 49ers]
*****San Diego Chargers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers [80% picked the Bucs]
*****Miami Dolphins at Kansas City Chiefs [91% picked the Dolphins]
New Orleans Saints at Detroit Lions [85% picked the Saints]
Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns [69% picked the Browns]

4:00 EST
**Buffalo Bills at Denver Broncos [81% picked the Broncos]
Houston Texans at Oakland Raiders [88% picked the Texans]
*****New York Jets at Seattle Seahawks [91% picked the Jets]
*****Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Redskins [75% picked the Eagles]
*****Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings [62% picked the Vikings]

***** - this means the game has possible playoff implications. However, the Broncos game doesn't, if the Bucaneers beat the Chargers in the early game.

Observation number one: Alex Flanagan is the most underrated sports babe in America.  Unfortunately, there's a sore lack of quality pictures on the interwebs.  Perhaps Kevin, her lucky as hell fine husband, has something to do with this.  Either way, NFL Network, high five!

The Cardinals are going to get rolled today.  Whisenhunt calls three runs to begin the game.  No Boldin.  30+ mph wind gusts on the way to complement a snow storm.  Warner has never played in snow.  He has 7 TDs to 7 INTs in his last five to begin with, so it's not even like he's playing well.  Cards are going to be the 4 seed, Pats have their playoff lives on the line.  I so wish I would've thrown down money on this game.

When is Arizona going to show up?

I guess when you catch a ball that is not in the endzone, but your feet are, it's a touchdown.  But when you're tackled with your feet in the endzone and the ball is out, its not a safety.

It really wouldn't bother me if Shaun Hill decided to remove his head from his buttocks for fantasy purposes.

Nice.  The Saints have 21 points and I started Drew Brees and Pierre Thomas.  Thats looks like I'd be doing good, except they've ran in 3 TD's with 3 different people and neither of them were Thomas or Brees.

So Roethlisberger said earlier this week "we don't need to win this game."  Save the TD drive which gave them their only score, and they're sure as hell playing like they don't care.

They don't really NEED to, but wouldn't it be a better way to head into the playoffs? I'm sure the Steelers would much rather be playing at home, and I'm sure their fans would rather see that as well.

I have Pierre AGAINST me so I am happy with that. Thomas just scored though, but he should have 3 TDs

I give props to the schedule makers.  Week 16- Battle for the #1 seeds in both the NFC and AFC.  Week 17- Dallas @ Philadelphia which could be for a WildCard spot, and then Miami @ New York which could decide the AFC East.  Noone would've expected it, but these are some pretty amazing matchups.

Yeah I did see that.  I want 4 touchdowns thrown from Brees to Thomas lol.

I just got back from the sports bar and I probably should have stayed home instead of watching 4  turnovers (3 of em costly) !!!!

I guess the Steelers don't mind going back to Nashville in January.

This is unchartered territory for The Titans so I think The Steelers have the upper hand in this one. Its been a long while since The Titans won a game of this magnatude and when they did win they had a lot of different players that never went that far and NOW they still have very inexperienced playoff players. Just my opinion.

Go Bills! I want the Broncos-Chargers game next week to mean something. Although I'd still put my money on the Broncos in this one. The Bills are pretty bad.

Of course the fans would prefer to see that, and so would Mike Tomlin, but when Big Ben makes those comments on Monday, you knew they were probably going to end up losing the game and playing like they just didn't give a s***.  Low and behold that's exactly what they did.

He's such a great leader.
