Welcome, Q-lets! This week we bring in The_Real_Stoney, or just Stoney. Stoney's been with the site for well over three years, and he treats us to insightful views on all things sports regularly. Today we steal him for our Sunday pre-game show and live thread! Without further ado, thank you for joining us, Stoney - tell us what you've got...
Early Games
Titans @ Bills
Who are the two teams who give up the most points per game? That’s right, these guys. This matchup may not be the sexiest, but there’s a great chance it will be the highest scoring Did you know only 4 QBs have thrown more TDs than Ryan Fitzpatrick? While only throwing for 202 yards per game? Bold prediction, Fred Jackson, CJ Spiller, and Chris Johnson all go for over 100 on the ground. Bills pull this one out to get above .500Jess: I keep wanting to say "as soon as Chris Johnson has a good game, the Titans will have a good game", but I'm not so sure it's as simple as that. I think Hasselbeck still has a great game or two in him, and I'll go out on a limb and say it's this week.Titans by a TD.
Browns @ Colts
The Browns are coming off a big intrastate win last week and riding the turd colored wave of momentum into Indy to take on the Fighting Pagano’s. While I think the Browns behind Trent Richardson keep it close for the first half, look for Andrew Luck to have a huge game and the Colts surpass last year’s win total.Jess: "Turd colored wave of momentum" sounds more like a Cleveland positive than Indy, but I'm going to have to agree with you on this one. I'm not sure about Luck having a huge game, but I think the Colts pull off the win anyway.
Packers @ Rams
I’m not gonna lie, at this time last week, this game was on my upset radar. Then of course the real Aaron Rodgers showed up and dismantled what I thought was a stout Texans D. Even though they’re at home, it’s going to be tough for the Rams to keep the pace with Rodgers with the magic foot of Greg Zuerlein. I’m not going to double check the spelling. Pack win big.Jess: For the record, Zuerlein is correct. As for the game - I would be surprised to see the Rams get the win here too. Their defense is good but I don't think it's as good as the Texans, even at home. They might put up a decent fight though.
Cardinals @ Vikings
Did you know that when the Vikings win this game they will be 5-2 and 4-0 at home? Jon Skelton is in for the injured Kevin Kolb which I think automatically raises the betting line 4 points, add 3 for the Vikes playing at home and you have a 7 point Vikings win.Jess: Wow - the Vikings are looking scarier on the schedule coming up for my Hawks in a couple of weeks. I'll take the Vikings too, but I'm still saying by a FG.
Redskins @ Giants
Showdown of the early games at the MetLife Blimp stadium. Look for boring Manning to toss all over the league’s worst pass defense, but I do have a feeling Bob Griffin III can keep the Redskins close. I want to go with the upset, but I don’t think the Skins can make a stop when they need to. Giants 33-27Jess: Ooh this is going to be a good game. I'm going to call an upset special here and say Redskins by a point.
Saints @ Buccaneers
Every time I see the Saints on D, I can’t help but let out an audible ewww. Luckily they have Drew Brees and are facing an awful pass D in Tampa.. Brees throws for 400+, but the Saints D let’s the Bucs keep it close.. In the end… The Saints win.. I thinkJess: I think the Saints are pulling it together and get this win pretty convincingly.
Cowboys @ Panthers
One of these days Cam Newton has to break out of this sophomore slump, right? Right? Not so fast my friends. I like the Cowboys as long as they can avoid having to manage the clock late in the game, plus I don’t think the Panthers will do enough to let bad idea Romo make an impact. Cowboys win despite blowing all 2nd half timeouts in the 3rd quarter.Jess: Eh, I dunno - I like the Panthers in this game.
Ravens @ Texans
Game of the week? Check. Battle of two elite running backs? Check. Despite a strong start to the year by Joe Flacco, I’m not sold on him in the long run. Throw in season ending injuries to Ray Lewis and Lardarius Webb and the fact the Texans are at home and Houston has the edge in this one. The Ravens on defense already weren’t performing like the Ravens D of old, and I think they get exploited in this one. Texans by a touchdown.Jess: I have a feeling the Texans are going to come out swinging, which is going to be more than Flacco can handle. I think they win by a lot more than 7.
Late Games
Jaguars @ Raiders
The Raiders are coming off a strong performance but a loss in Atlanta and get to go home against the worst offensive team in the league. If this wasn’t the perfect set up for a win, I don’t know what is. The fact the Raiders are only 4 point favorite surprises me as I think they hammer the Jags.Jess: I'm calling another upset here just because.
Jets @ Patriots
Here we got ourselves a good old fashioned AFC East showdown. Both teams come in at 3-3 with a shot at taking at least a share of 1st place in the division. On paper this should be a big win for the Patriots, but they already have two awful losses this year. Then again, they’ve looked downright amazing at times. When it comes down to brass tax, I’ll take Tom Brady over the Filthy Sanchez/Tesus out of the backfield combination.Jess: Do we seriously only have 2 late games today? Gross. I don't even know who to pick here...On one hand we have an obvious favorite with the Pats, and on the other hand we have the craziness that is Rex Ryan, Sanchez and Tebow. Are they ready to put Tesus in yet? I don't even know...but with the Pats habit of giving up late leads and Tesus miracle comebacks you never know what could happen. I suppose losing to the Seahawks last week may have ticked them off, so I'll pick NE here.
Prime Time
Steelers @ Bengals
Trap game!!!!! The Steelers have been good at home, but 0-3 with awful losses on the road including a loss at the Titans last week. The Bengals just got hammered by the Browns in Cleveland. I think the Steelers come out strong but end up losing another close one.Jess: Ugh. Another Cris Collinsworth + Steelers game? I have a feeling that extra Naked Grape Pinot Noir purchase I made recently was a smart one. Bengals. Again, because I can (sorry Steelers fan friends).
MNF Bonus Pick
Lions @ Bears
Monday Funday!! The Lions have been a disappointment this year, especially that no good bastard Matt Stafford. 4 TD passes? Seriously? But they are coming off a win over the overrated Eagles. Unfortunately, I don’t think they match up well with the Bears and as much as I want to see Jay Cutler fail, it ain’t happening this week. Bears big.Jess: I take it you have Stafford on your fantasy team? And I don't know, I think Cutler might be due for another meltdown.
Thanks for joining us today for a great read, Stoney! Good luck on all of your picks, and let us all wish a belated Happy Birthday to you!

Coaching all around is awful this year. Play calling, clock management, etc...simply awful. They are getting paid tons to make stupid call after stupid call. It's sad.
The Bills are killing themselves every week...and me, for picking them. In the Cowboys game, I wasn't sure who wanted to win at any point in that game. That was ugly. Redskins...*sigh* Shanahan needs to go.

Then you've got the Saints.. If they don't pick up a first down here, they don't win this game

Rams secondary giving the Packers receivers about 10 yards of cushion on every play. Rodgers and company just methodically moving down the field. Rams with -7 yards of offense in the 2nd half midway thru the 4th quarter

Now I see what you mean. That was terrible with goal to go. Game could've been all but sealed with a touchdown.

TB sucks!
RG3 with the horrible INT! :| Can't keep giving them the ball and expect to win. Puts lots of pressure on the defense.

Watching NASCAR, and following twitter, which says Fred Davis has a suspected torn Achilles tendon. Sucks for the Redskins, but I NEVER get to see any of their games anyway, so I wouldn't know if they were winning, losing, sucking or playing the best game of their season.

Aaron Rodgers now 20-22 passing after his 2nd touchdown pass. 17-6 Pack might as well be 27-6 with the Rams inability to score touchdowns

The only reason they are hanging around is because the Packers seem hell bent on trying to run the ball. Rams have zero answer for Rodgers and the passing game

They are letting them hang around still, the Rams could steal it if they find some consistency not named Zuerlein.

There's only 2 late games because FOX has Game 6 of the NLCS tonight starting at 7, and thus couldn't show any late games. What sucks isn't necessary the amount of games available, but which ones they are: the Pats-Jets hype machine and the game I would've given the Woof designation.
The good thing about the baseball game though is it gives us an alternative to the Steelers tonight.

Go Falcons....wait...no :).
Go Colts!! (hi, Richard Cranium)
There aren't enough games this week, I am annoyed.
p.s. I happened to check my fantasy team and had to sit Jimmy Graham. My only available back up is Chandler who had 0 pts last week I think. I'm not loving it. And I started GB against Rams instead of MN against the Cardinals. I hope they at least score equal points. It's predicted that I shall lose my matchup. Boo.
