Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder has fired a warning to his former boss Jose Mourinho suggesting that his side should be considered as tough opponents to defeat. Wesley Sneijder’s statements come after Galatasaray and Real Madrid were drawn as opponents for the quarter-final stage of the Champions League.

Wesley Sneijder, who won the 2010 Champions League under Jose Mourinho at Inter Milan, claims Jose Mourinho shouldn’t take his side lightly. It appears as if Jose Mourinho is already aware of tough battle he will have against Galatasaray. The former Chelsea manager travelled to Galatasaray’s 3-1 Turkish Lig win at Kayserispor last weekend.

Jose Mourinho saw a goal from Wesley Sneijder and two from the join-top scorer in the Champions League Burak Yilmaz take Galatasaray to victory.

Marca reports Wesley Sneijder and Jose Mourinho caught up with each other in Turkey as well.

“It was great to see Mourinho again,” Wesley Sneijder said. “We have had some good times together, like winning the Champions League final against Bayern Munich. I have not had a chance to see him for a long time, and I am happy to have done so now. I gave him a message: watch out for Galatasaray.”

Jose Mourinho has played a huge role in Wesley Sneijder’s football career. The Dutch midfielder’s career took a huge dip after Jose Mourinho left Real Madrid for Inter Milan during the summers of 2010. Wesley Sneijder, who once grew out of favor at Real Madrid, was once again an unwanted man at Inter Milan.

After months of speculation about which club Wesley Sneijder would join, Inter Milan finally decided to sell the Netherlands international to Galatasaray in the first transfer window of this year.

“I am pleased with my performances - I am getting better all the time,” Wesley Sneijder said. “Now I am going to the national squad, I am captain and proud to go back. Being out for a while affected my performances, but bit by bit the real Sneijder is returning.”

Jose Mourinho’s former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and former Real Madrid midfielder Hamit Altintop are also playing beside Welsey Sneijder at Galatasaray.
