So tonight was pretty awesome. Around 4:30 I get a call from a friend wondering if I wanted to go to the Bucks game tonight with him and a couple other people. I figured who turns down free tickets and said yes. We get down to the Bradley Center at about 5 and it turns out we get to sit court side during warm-ups and tour the locker room. Obviously, it was awesome (and free!). Here are some of the things I observed:
- I take back everything I've ever said about Bobby Simmons. He's a cool guy. I'd also like to think its not a coincidence that he played well tonight (16 points, 8 rebounds) and that I touched his shooting hand.
- Desmond Mason is unnecessarily good at half court shots.
- There apparently are actually good looking girls in Milwaukee... only at Brewer and Bucks games though.
- Mike Dunleavy comes off as even more of a loser in real life.
- Travis Diener is still in the NBA and even started tonight.
- I got Travis Diener's autograph.
- Michael Redd has a beautiful shot and is the most underrated player in the NBA.
- He uses Mucinex.
- Andrew Bogut couldn't create his own offense if his life depended on it, but he's pretty good as finishing off easy dunks.
- Apparently home teams do the road team's laundry in the NBA.
- The Bucks can't play defense. Mike Dunleavy went off for 22 points and Travis Diener had 15. Thankfully the third person of the white unathletic looking Catholic school grads trio, Troy Murphy, sucks and only had 4 points.
I had an awesome time there tonight. Its great taking in a basketball game in person, especially when its all free.
