It was a wild ride, but yet another "Save Me Saturday".  With a little bit of basketball IQ, I might have hit all 4 tickets, but Sam Houston St. played a very poor last couple of minutes.  What are you going to do?  I'll take the 3-1 day and be happy for it.  With it, I finish the week at 8-7 (5-4 with college hoops and 3-3 in the NBA).  It's not great at all, and I'm far from satisfied with it, but overall, I'm still in great shape for March with a 22-13 mark (14-5 with college hoops and 8-8 in the NBA).

Last week of the month starts today.  Let's get started on our way to making March go out like a lion.

COLLEGE HOOPS  (6-9 ATS/6-9 SU/5-10 TOTALS yesterday, 51-46/54-39/44-53 for the week and 191-167/221-123/186-172 so far for the month)

BUTTA  (2-1 yesterday, 5-4 for the week and 14-5 so far for the month)
PARLAY:  Virginia (-260) over Memphis and Ucla (-475) over Stephen F. Austin - Virginia's smothering defense is the key to their success, but their half-court offense leaves a lot to be desired.  They rely on their defense to create offense for them, so this game against a decent Memphis squad should be tight all the way and definitely not worthy of laying (-6) on Virginia.  Coupling the Cavs with the Bruins increases my payout by almost twice as much as if I were to just lay the Cavs to win and be done with it all, and there's really no doubt in my mind that the Lumberjacks' Cinderella bid will come to an end against UCLA.

THE NBA  (4-4 ATS/5-3 ATS/2-6 TOTALS last night, 28-25/37-15/26-27 last week and 81-76/106-48/71-86 so far for the month)

BUTTA  (1-0 last night, 3-3 for the week and 8-8 so far for the month)
RAPTORS (-300) over Hawks - The wood on the Raptors at (-7) is a little too heavy for me to carry, but they should win this game.  The Dinos have been scuffling a bit, but I believe that they will see this game as more important to them than the Hawks will.  Toronto is trying to hold off the Nets for the top spot in their division, while Atlanta is still relatively safe with a 3 game lead (4 in the loss column) over the Knicks with 2 games in hand.  Atlanta has also been a pretty bad road team all season, so with 2 straight road wins under their belt, I think things revert back closer to form with them.  Even though it's going to be a real short payout, give me the better team at home in a matinee with the motivation of a little more to play for.

NBA NOTES:
---A word to the wise:  Note how the number posted for the Kings game lays right down on my projection.  I know it's the Bucks providing the opposition, or lack thereof, but be real careful if you like the Kings tonight.  They're no bargain.
---The Lakers have a solid shot to come away with a win tonight.  The Magic are a terrible road team at only 4-33 SU this season, and when they're on the b2b, closing with a road game, they're only 2-9 SU.

What's this?  Maybe a little sleep in my future?  I just keep "choppin' wood", but I'm looking forward to "sawin' logs" pretty soon!  Have a grand and glorious Sunday.  I will talk to you tomorrow.
