Who Will End Up With the Title? [World Series Game 7 Live Thread]

After a memorable first 6 games, the World Series concludes tonight with a decisive Game 7. The Cardinals would appear to have the momentum after last night's incredible Game 6. The Rangers meanwhile must regroup about coming one strike away from the championship twice. St. Louis also has home field advantage. The last eight Game 7's have been won by the home team. However, as we've seen this entire October, any can, and probably will happen.

Your starting pitchers tonight are Matt Harrison for the Rangers and Chris Carpenter for the Cardinals. This appears to be another advantage for the Cardinals, but Carpenter is going on three days rest for just the second time in his career. The first was Game 2 of this year's NLDS, which didn't go well. Another roster note: Matt Holliday has been taken off the roster with an injury. This sounds bad, but Holliday has been less than impressive this series, and the move puts October hero Allen Craig into the lineup. Mike Napoli and Nelson Cruz and banged up for Texas, but both will play.

Here are tonight's starting lineups.

Texas:
2B Ian Kinsler
SS Elvis Andrus
CF Josh Hamilton
1B Michael Young
3B Adrian Beltre
RF Nelson Cruz
C Mike Napoli
LF David Murphy
P Matt Harrison

St. Louis:
2B Ryan Theriot
LF Allen Craig
1B Albert Pujols
RF Lance Berkman
3B David Freese
C Yadier Molina
SS Rafael Furcal
CF Skip Schumaker
P Chris Carpenter

The picture above is of the Cardinals when they won it all in 2006. Will they win another title five years later, or will the Rangers finally win their first World Championship? Q it up here through all the Game 7 drama.

With his contract expiring, unfortunately there will be a price tag for that. lol

Congratulations to the Cardinals and their fans. That run could very well be the most improbable in baseball history. The only thing off the top of my head I can think of that compares is the 1914 Miracle Braves.

Up 4 with 6 outs to go. For some reason, that looks a lot better than the up 3 with 6 outs to go Texas had last night.

In a series of special moments, that bottom of the 5th might've been the most special of all.

Wasn't it CJ warming? Another lefty?

I thought it was Feldman. Maybe it was both. I'm not even drunk yet. I should remember.

Wait a minute, I'm expressing surprise with a Ron Washington decision. My mistake (and actually, Schumaker's so bad against lefties that it made sense to leave him in).

Surprised that Harrison is still in the game.

Yes I meant doesn't and fixed it right after I replied, the Q lag hasn't evidently caught up yet.

If a new roommate is not a option, maybe a second TV?

Funny thing is...the main tv (42" HD) is his. I pay for the cable.

I have a tv in my room, very small (12-14"), and that's for sporting "emergencies".

He really isn't much of a tv watcher overall. He got a new computer recently and watches his shows on there and through Netflix. For the shows we both watch (NBC Thursday, Psych, X-Play, etc.) we just DVR and watch later. It's just easier that way.

But back to the original question from myself: Shouldn't people, even non-sport fans, just know live sports takes precedent for watching "now" than a regular show? Who the hell wants to watch a WS game on an hour delay or completely miss 1/3 of the game?

It's easy most of the time. The most difficult is Sunday's where I really want to watch the SNF game (if it's a good matchup, so it's been a few weeks). I just watched 6 hours of football and he thinks it's time for a break and will start a show or movie on Netflix. Umm, no...it's f**kin' SNF.

Twins baseball he's turned around on, not really a fan, but tolerates it.

Roommate tried changing it to NBC for Chuck. I had to go through how live sports, especially a Game 7 of a World Series is kind of necessary to watch live than a show (with DVR...which we have) can be watched ANY time. How does somebody not understand that?

I suggest getting a new roommate.
