The Los Angeles Kings play the Nashville Predators on Thursday night, and they'll play another game without defenseman Willie Mitchell.
Mitchell underwent knee surgery during the off-season, and was only expected to take a couple of weeks to heal, but it's already been months and he's still not out there on the ice.
GM Dean Lombardi talked about it saying, "There was no structural damage and no setback.”
Because of this, Mitchell was cleared to play last week, but according to the LA Times, he still didn't skate on Sunday or Monday. Tuesday was an off-day for the Kings, but Mitchell is not listed on the roster for the game against the Preds.
It's a bit of a mystery why his recovery is taking so long, and why he's not playing, despite being medically cleared. Hopefully he gets better fast because the Kings could use him.
