Winds Of March

I didn't get all the way back yesterday, but thanks to that Bucks game falling in my lap at the last minute, I did do a bit of a salvaging job. It was still a losing week at 9-10 (3-6 in the NBA and 6-4 with college hoops), but it was still a winning month at 31-22 (11-11 in the NBA and 20-11 with college hoops). With the accounting out of the way for February, let's officially march into March.

COLLEGE HOOPS (24-28 ATS/35-17 SU/32-20 TOTALS yesterday, 63-54/81-30/58-59 for the week and 226-202/295-122/213-215 for the month)

BUTTA (2-1 yesterday, 6-4 for the week and 20-11 for the month)

If there is anything to move on with today's schedule, I'm not seeing it.

1. MICHIGAN 73, Michigan St. (+4 1/2, O132)

2. WISCONSIN (-14, U118 1/2) 69, Purdue 45

3. BOSTON COLLEGE (+4 1/2, O124) 69, Virginia 66

4. N. Carolina St. 57, GEORGIA TECH (+4, U136 1/2) 56

5. N. CAROLINA (-13, O147) 91, Florida St. 58

6. PITT (-9 1/2, U123) 60, Villanova 50

7. DePaul (+3, O134 1/2) 73, S. FLORIDA 68

8. STANFORD (-10, O126 1/2) 74, Utah 59

9. WASHINGTON (-7, U131) 69, Washington St. 57

THE NBA (1-3 last night, 23-27 for the week and 90-86 for the month)

SU WINNERS (2-2 last night, 28-21 for the week and 104-67 for the month)

TOTALS (2-2 last night, 28-22 for the week and 98-83 for the month)

OVERS - Thunder/CLIPPERS (204 1/2), Grizzlies/MAGIC (185), Mavs/ROCKETS (217 1/2) and Hawks/LAKERS (205 1/2)

UNDERS - Heat/KNICKS (197 1/2), 76ers/WIZARDS (186 1/2), Bobcats/KINGS (207), Pistons/SPURS (199 1/2) and Bulls/PACERS (179)

BUTTA (1-0 last night, 3-6 for the week and 11-11 for the month)

1. Heat (-200) over KNICKS - I don't know. I just don't like laying spreads with the Heat in these nationally televised games. I know it's only (-4), and the Knicks have a lot of holes. I'm just going to take the better team, who also happen to be on a strong roll right now, to just win the game. Heat 106, KNICKS 85

2. Mavs/ROCKETS (O217 1/2) - I don't want anything to do with the side in this game. The Mavs have dominated this series over the last several years (21-7 ATS), so I can't back my projection or the spread of Rocks (-5 1/2) with any confidence. Neither of these teams plays any defense to speak of though, so I don't understand why this TOTAL has gone down from it's opener of (219) ROCKETS 116, Mavs 106

1. CLIPPERS (-2) over Thunder - This is purely a numbers thing, but I'm not going to move on it because I don't like going against the Thunder when they're off a loss. The Clips are rolling again, and the stats make it look like that should continue. Also, the Thunder are only 10-21 ATS in their last 31 games against the Clips, and the home team in this series is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. CLIPPERS 114, Thunder 96

2. 76ers (+5 1/2) at WIZARDS - I've got the Wiz winning this game, but the Sixers hanging in it. I'm not so sure about that though. I think this has become a bad matchup for Philly, especially if NeNe is able to play for the Wiz. WIZARDS 95, 76ers 91

3. Grizzlies (-8) over MAGIC - The Griz might be a little shorthanded tonight with Randolph listed as "questionable", but I don't know if it matters against this opponent. Grizzlies 109, MAGIC 86

4. KINGS (-7 1/2) over Bobcats - The danger here is that the Kings get to face a team that they are better than. That could be too much for a young team like Sac to deal with. KINGS 111, Bobcats 91

5. SPURS (-12) over Pistons - Spurs will be shorthanded tonight without Tony P., but Neal and Cap'n Jack are also looking like they'll be on the shelf as well. SPURS 102, Pistons 90

6. PACERS (-7 1/2) over Bulls - The Pacers can put a real stranglehold on the Central with this win tonight, and that's exactly why I won't play it. The Bulls know the situation, and they've actually been a better team on the road than they have been at home for some odd reason. This price is just too high for me to want to pay, but I don't want the dog on the b2b either. PACERS 93, Bulls 79

7. Hawks (+5 1/2) at LAKERS - Here we are again with those stinkin' Hawks showing up as the side to be on. Maybe their performance in Phoenix the other night was due in part to looking ahead to this game, but I just think it's because they aren't as good as most think they are. LAKERS 110, Hawks 107

Have a grand and glorious Sunday! We may get some snow melt here today with the sun out, so that's a good thing. I'll see you again tomorrow.
