If you're in the States you have to have NHLN to watch the game, but if you are with me up in Canuckland, CBC is showing the game on their HD channel.
It has been a long time coming, 15 years in fact, but the Winnipeg Jets have returned to the NHL. In July, they unveiled their new logo, to cheers and jeers. Some wanted one of the old logos, some wanted something not so much like the Maple Leafs, and some just thought the logo, and the team, sucked. Of course, this isn't a totally new team, having been transferred from Atlanta and formerly known as the Thrashers. However, Winnipeg is stoked to have hockey back in their city, and the rink where the Jets will play is reportedly sold out for the next three years.
Tonight we find out just how quickly the (new) team has been able to mesh and adjust to their surroundings, as the Jets meet one of the most historied teams in the NHL, the Montreal Canadiens. The Habs are not starting out their season on a high note, having lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs in their first matchup.
That game gets underway at 5pm ET. Of course, that isn't the only game on TV tonight. The Penguins, on a high after defeating the Calgary Flames 5-3 (BOO!) last night, meet up with the Edmonton Oilers at 9pm ET.

Well, I guess the finish to the first game was to be expected......
I'm glad that the Jets managed to get a goal. First game nerves to be expected. Hopefully they will pull it together and get a few wins.
Now Pittsburgh and Edmonton. I hated that the Pens beat Calgary, but I couldn't care less if they SLAUGHTER the Oilers
