Wisconsin Fires O-Line Coach After Slow Start
"As of today, officially, we've moved on in a transition at the offensive line position," coach Bret Bielema told the Sports Xchange.
The Badgers, who had back-to-back seasons with at least 3,000 rushing yards, have 267 yards on 70 carries (3.8 ypc) and currently rank 103rd in the nation on the ground after finishing 11th last season.
They combined for just 35 total rushing yards in the 10-7 loss to Oregon State last Saturday.
Markuson was hired to replace Bob Bostad—who left to be the offensive coordinator at Pitt—eight months ago. Offensive quality control coordinator Bart Miller is expected to take over his position.
