If you think the latest James Bond movie, "Casino Royale", has had an impact upon your poker player soul, wait until you see the upcoming movie X-Men Origins: “Wolverine”, the first of the X-Men movie franchise to focus on a single member rather than the explosive ensemble team. Perhaps by focusing on a single character, the movie will help the audience see far from its vices.
Either ways, it’s cool to see the prolific poker industry moving forward into another successful field, as movies are always a great opportunity to combine superpowers with the real thrill of playing poker. However, this time, an unusual guest is going to prove its luck on cards, namely, the X-Men Origins star himself, Wolverine.
Regarding this matter, Comics2Film website proudly informs us that Hugh Jackman himself is going to play some kick arse card game with none other than poker pro Daniel Negreanu, who's going to make a cameo appearance in the movie. Phil Hellmuth himself said that him and Daniel we're given the chance to star in the movie. However, due to some prior commintments, he had to turn down the offer. I don't know about you, but I can hardly wait to see this poker scene with one of my favorite beer-drinking superhero. Actaully, Wolverine is also known as an ocasional poker player. Unfortunatelly, his fans are not going to see his partner in flesh, as Negreanu is going to make a cameo playing himself in the movie.
Some say that, the Kid Poker, as Negreanu is being nicknamed, has some few things in common with the spooky comic character. Besides the fact that they both hail from Canada, they're both on the short side and know how to behave themselves when playing cards.
Furthermore, apart from the famous comic character, the movie is also staring live Scheiber, Dominic Monaghan, Danny Huston and Ryan Reynolds. Patience fellas, the fils is due to hit the big screen only in 2009!
