Woody Austin appears to be applying to the Rory Sabbatini School of Tiger Woods Reasoning. Well, consider his application accepted. I had to read his quote from several source to, in fact, confirm this was uttered from an actual adult. Sadly, this is all true:
"Well, you said in the media, especially on Friday, that he played just an unbelievable round of golf and that he was in total control and that he was just toying with the field. We can go through our rounds. I outplayed him on Friday, but he beat me by seven shots. So, does that mean he -- does that mean he's that much better? I don't get it. It just happens that he scored better, and like I said on Friday, can you not throw away that many opportunities when you are trying to win a big golf tournament. He took advantage; I didn't. Does that mean he played better than me or he's better than me? I don't agree with that."[Emphasis added on my end to point out Woody Austin's intelligence]
Woody Austin, the Seattle Seahawks officially welcome you to their fan base. You see, they outplayed the Pittsburgh Steelers and were a much better team, but it just happens that they were outscored. I did enjoy Woody's emotion throughout the weekend, but this constant complex with Tiger is embarrassing. Those choice of words were as off as his shirt selection.
Here we thought golf was filled with just a bunch of mild demeanor, well mannered country club boys.
