I've never seen them together in the same place, so I think Bob Costas and Britney Spears are actually the same person.  Oops!  Costas did it again last night using his halftime "podium" to urge the Redskins to change their name.  There's a very big problem with his argument.  Nobody, especially Native Americans, care one way or the other.  The other problem was that he shot down his own argument at the very end when he "realized" that no offense was intended by the team name.  With that being the case, no offense should be taken.

That's the way it is with these guys though.  They're so concerned about stuff that they want everybody else to be concerned about that they can't keep their pie holes shut.  Lucky for us, that gets them into trouble.  The more they beat their gums, the more their argument unravels.  Costas, and those like him, want us to be very impressed with how smart and sensitive to the human condition they are.  But what always ends up happening is we, the great unwashed masses, find out just how unintelligent, short-sighted and out of touch they really are.

I could go on and on about this, but a sawed off little midget like Costas has already taken up more of my time than he's worth.  I've got more important things going, so let's get to that.

THE NFL  (6-7 yesterday)
It was like pulling teeth, but the Niners finally bailed me out yesterday.  Thanks to that, I'm not hurting much after that miserable performance by the Texans.  SHEESH!  That team went from somewhere to nowhere in nothing flat!

BUTTA  (1-1 yesterday)
Colts (-2) over CHARGERS - I've been arguing with myself all day over this game.  I've been trying to talk myself out of making this play, but I can't do it.  The Colts are just simply the better team.  I didn't say they have the better QB because I don't think they do, but all phases of the game considered, the Colts are the more solid unit.  I also can't get images of Colt receivers, especially T.Y. Hilton, running uncontested through the Bolts secondary.  In most cases, I would prefer to be right about a game and pass on it than to get cut off at the knees because I missed something.  But I don't think I've missed anything here.

In case you didn't know, I'll be the first to tell you that we will have our first Tuesday college game of the season tomorrow, so no time off for me.  Have a great night, and I'll see you tomorrow.
