Yankees and Phillies Follow Up Sweeps with Weekend Duds
9/3/07
.png)
Blogging the bases from Sunday's MLB action ...
Marlins 7, Phillies 6 Way to follow up a season-making sweep of the Mets with a clunker in Miami. Philly once again trails the Metropolitans by 4 games.
Devil Rays 8, Yankees 2 Making sure the Phillies didn't feel alone in Labor Day despair, the Pinstripes followed a sweep of the Red Sox by losing to the D-Rays. What was that Michael Kay said last week? Oh right, that New York was the best team in baseball. Remind me what losing a series to Tampa Bay and future Hall of Famer Carlos Pena have to do with that. Inexcusable. Series against Wild Card contender Mariners starts today.
MLB Standings Check with just under a month to go:
Boston leads AL East by 6 over New York
Cleveland leads AL Central by 5.5 over Detroit
Los Angeles leads AL West by 6.5 over Seattle
New York leads AL Wild Card by 2 over Seattle
New York leads NL East by 4 by Philly
Chicago leads NL Central by 1.5 by Milwaukee
San Diego and Arizona lead NL West by 4 over LA
SD/Ari lead NL Wild Card by 3 over Philly
Besides the NL West, do we think any division leaders will change?
