Yankees fans boo Robinson Cano, while cheering on mercenaries like Tanaka, Ellsbury, Beltran and McCann
New Yorkers were given the chance to boo a picture Robinson Cano on the street, and then Cano himself came out behind the picture. Without exception, the fans all shook his hand, some hugged him, some even apologized to him.

Yankees fans should be more upset with their own team than with Cano, if at all.
Some would say that the Yankees did the right thing in letting Cano go. The Mariners gave him an awful lot of money over an awful lot of years, and it would probably have been a mistake to best that offer.
Either way, there's really no possible way to blame Cano, since he only did the same exact thing that many Yankees before him have always done. He took the money. Just like Derek Jeter has always done. Just like Roger Clemens, Mark Teixeira, Mike Mussina, Jacoby Ellsbury, Masahiro Tanaka and Brian McCann.
The Yankees and their fans should be more upset about the huge number of empty seats at Yankee Stadium than about Cano and his new laundry.
Cano was instrumental in the Mariners' 6-3 in his first game back at Yankee Stadium in a new uniform, with a single, a run and an RBI.
His Yankees counterpart, 2B Brian Roberts, had a double and a run. The Yankees are currently 15-11 and in first place in the AL East. Should Yankees fans really be concerned about Cano and the Mariners, who are in 3rd in their division?
No. But you know they will. Because no matter what or who they have, it will never be enough for them.
