Yaya Toure is exuberant over Roberto Mancini’s five-year contract extension with Manchester City. In an interview to the Manchester City official website, Yaya Toure praised Roberto Mancini’s efforts and hoped he could lead Manchester City to their second successive English Premier League title.

The Ivory Coast international also shrugged of rumors about his return to Barcelona. Yaya Toure said that he was happy with his stay at the Eastlands and hoped he could win more silverware with the Rising Blue Moon.

Manchester City won their first trophy in 35 years two seasons ago. Last season they broke another record by winning their first Premier League title in 44 years. Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is rightfully being hailed as the center of this revolution, although the huge financial support he is getting from the mega rich owner of the club is helping him a lot too.

“I was very happy to hear the news that our manager has signed a new five year deal,” Yaya Toure said. “It is important for this club to have stability at all levels, especially after we have just won the title and the FA Cup the season before.

“It means there will be no changes or disruption to what has proved a winning formula and, for the long term, that can only be good for Manchester City.

“Now the manager can continue to build this club and plan for the future - let's not forget Sir Alex Ferguson has been at Manchester United for 25 years and they haven't done too badly over the years.”

Although Manchester City has made a number of high profile and expensive signings, their players have recorded exceptional form to take Manchester City to such glory. Yaya Toure happens to be one of them. The 29-year-old versatile midfielder, Yaya Toure transferred from Barcelona to Manchester City in 2010 and since then has become a coveted asset for the Eastlands.

Yaya Toure has been tempted to return to Camp Nou, but he seems to like the responsibilities and challenges he is facing in the English Premier League. Yaya Toure played a key role in Manchester City’s trilling title take over from arch rivals Manchester United last season.

“On a personal level, I'm very happy because I want to win many more trophies with City and the manager has the same mentality as I do - he wants to win everything with this club and so do I,” Yaya Toure said.

“Of course, it's not only me - we have a whole squad who are hungry for more success and we are pulling in the same direction.”
