I'm not very savvy with wording but hey, I'm very passionate about what or who I am blogging about.

As I was perusing thru a few blogs and such, I came across an <a href="http://sports.yahoo.com/nascar/rumors/post/Has-Junior-become-nothing-more-than-a-lap-runner?urn=nascar,86340">article</a> on Yahoo Sports about Dale Jr. The entire maylay started with the <a href="http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/more_sports/2008/06/04/2008-06-04_dale_earnhardt_jr_is_wellloved_and_wellp-1.html">story</a> from Richard Huff over at the NY Daily News. I am not only a little perturbed about the article but also some of the comments that were left by readers.

I have a few questions as well as some opinions:

1. Since when are NASCAR fans obligated to only root for drivers who win?

2. Dale Jr. is not riding on his father's coat tails. Dale Jr. has said over and over again that he wants to be his own person and does NOT want to be compared to his father. That is why (I believe) he did not go drive for RCR and went to HMS instead.

3. Since when has running consistently up front and being third in the point standing become considered sub-standard to some so-called NASCAR fans?

4. How come some fail to notice that Junior is doing the best out of all the HMS drivers?

5. Richard failed to remember that Junior did win two races thus far in the 2008 season. Although both of them were not point races, a win is a win and should be recognized as so.

6. Junior deserves to be paid well and also deserves a loyal fan base. Why? Because he works hard, is striving to win every weekend. His win at a point race will come soon, that is if Kyle Busch doesn't put Junior in the wall.

I am biased I admit it, for I am a die hard Dale Jr. fan through thick and thin. After all, isn't that what a true fan is supposed to be?
