You crazy, Dawg: Elijah Dukes calls into local radio show Ron & Ian to confirm he needs help
>7 days ago
It's a really bad idea for athletes or coaches (yes, you Ozzie Guillen) to call in to local radio shows when they're emotional over a sore subject. Rarely does it go well.Elijah Dukes, however, thought it was a good idea to call in to a local Tampa Bay radio show hosted by Ron Diaz and Ian Beckles (620 WDAE) and voice his side of the story.
Thanks to the Big Lead, here's the link to the podcast of his phone call.
Enjoy. Rays of Light wonders what the D Rays should do with Dukes, besides lots and lots of help.Among the highlights:
* He talks about the value of crack in the hood
* On the 17-year-old he knocked up: ‘We and her did something one-time … I know for a fact, I know for a fact … if that’s my child, why does it have to be broadcast?’
* His mother never smoked crack, and he never said that she did
* ‘When did I get in trouble for domestic violence over the last year and a half?’
* ‘Elijah, do you need help?’ No! Do I need guidance? Yeah, I need guidance … I went to jail for breaking a remote control.
