Mandatory Credit: Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY SportsAdd former LSU QB Zach Metternberger to the list of players who failed a drug test at the NFL Combine.

Technically, his urine sample was 'diluted,' which is usually an indication that he was trying to flush something out of his system.

His agent claims that he was simply over-hydrated due to drinking a gallon of water daily to avoid dehydration.

This is similar to the claim made by potential first round pick Timmy Jernigan, a former Florida State defensive tackle.

This counts as a failed test under the NFL's drug testing program, so Mettenberger, Jernigan and the other players who failed drug tests at the Combine will be subjected to additional testing once they're signed to NFL teams.

There's no telling whether or not this will affect Mettenberger's draft stock, but it's always a bit risky drafting guys who are already in the testing program.
