Some good news in Dodgerland came on Wednesday with the announcement that pitcher Zack Greinke would be returning to the mound for the Boys in Blue.
The pitcher was projected to be out for eight weeks after he broke his collarbone thanks to Carlos Quentin of the Padres, but it’s only five weeks later and he’s back to work.
Maybe he’s worth all that money after all because a three week difference is pretty miraculous.
Greinke started for the Class A Rancho Cucamonga team on Saturday, and decided he’s well enough to play.
Manager Don Mattingly said:
“He feels like he’s ready. His stuff tells us he’s ready. He didn’t think he was going to get anything more out of a minor league start.”
No better time than the present to get back in the saddle. Good luck, Zack.
