That's because he pitched horribly in the beginning of the season. Look at his numbers in his last five starts: August 10--9 IP, 1 earned run; August 4--7 IP, 0 earned runs; July 30--8 IP, 2 earned runs; July 24--7 IP, 1 earned run; July 19--8 IP, 1 earned run.
