Well you can blame the Ump on the blown call and the inning would have been over. It still would have been 1-0 and the Yankees still can't hit for sh-t! Post season Yankees suck!

Oh and Tigers get yourself another closer Valverde's done! Don't pin your hopes on Dotel this piece of crap couldn't close a store when he was with the Sox.

My radio report this week was going to be on the luckiest team in sports the St. Louis Cardinals, but I decided to change it after seeing the bottom of the 9th of the Tigers-Yanks game. Baseball is wonderful because they have no clock, you have to get 27 outs no matter no matter how long it takes, and in some cases you may have to get more than 27 outs . I have a lot of respect for Tigers manager Jim Leyland and nearly all the managers around the league, but it baffles me to no end, why the heck do they always stick with their closer's in the postseason to close out a game. Now in the regular season it should'nt mean as much, but in the postseason as far as I am concerned you have to change it up, but that statement is coming from a guy that has never managed in the major leagues (me). Watching Valverde's first few pitches, I knew he was not ready, I said the Yankees will come back, and when Ichiro hit the two run homer (come on now Ichiro) I immediately would have taken him out. It's seems like all managers around the league stick to that script, I have looked in the major league rule books hundreds of times, and I have never seen a rule that states a manager has to stick with his designated closer if he puts him in. Fortunate for the Tigers and manager Leyland they were able to win the game but it took them 36 outs instead of 27 and he did it without his closer Valverde. Baseball has changed a lot over the past 15-20, Starters are on pitch counts, you will never see a complete game shutout when a pitcher throws more than 130 pitches. You will never see doubleheaders that are played 40 minutes apart, and you will never see a manager take out his closer in crucial moments, they will win or die with their closers. With that being said, it's too bad for Yankees captain Derek Jeter, I like teams playing at full strength. I am rooting for the Tigers in this series, but the Yankees will find a way to win this game today and tie it at a game apiece
sticking w/ his closer until there's no chance for the tigers to win is leyland's MO...he did it when fernando rodney was his closer as well...as for taking vaverde out after suzuki's HR, he couldn't b/c dotel had just started throwing at the beginning of suzuki's AB, but dotel was ready, and should've faced ibanez
Detroit Tigers 10/14/12
Infante keeps rolling and Ajax shows up grandy. Those are the two to watch
Detroit Tigers 10/14/12
as for today's game, the mediocore sanchez beats a washed-up kuroda, and the series comes to comerica w/ the tigers up 2-0

myth #3- jeter's broken ankle is devistating for the yankers...REALITY- jeter is so overrated that they'll get better play from a-roid if he went back to short, despite the fact that a-roid hasn't played shortstop since he's been w/ the yankers
Detroit Tigers 10/14/12
myth #2)- swisher should've caught on young's game winning double in the 12th...REALITY- that ball was a rocket, and no matter how close swisher got to the ball, he wasn't going to catch it
Detroit Tigers 10/14/12
i'm going to debunk 3 myths the national media (TBS' game announcers, MLBN and ESPN) are expousing last night/ this morning...#1) if ibanez got to bat in the 9th, the heroics were a given...REALITY: leyland was an IDIOT for leaving valverde in to face ibanez when he had dotel ready (dotel got up as soon as jeter got on base in front of suzuki)...it's game over if dotel was the pitcher to face ibanez in the 9th
