You don't go from a third place team to a first place team in one offseason.
Since the All-Star break he’s hitting .171 with a .246 slugging percentage, and for the season Granderson is down to .217, with 16 home runs and a .368 slugging percentage which is sad and how about asAugust ends only 6 of his HRs are at Citi Field. Still cannot believe you really thought he would be a power hitter at Citi Field. Terry Collins has shown once again poor choices were the Mets are going be lucky to finish 3rd this season. Do you really believe Terry and Sandy are the right people for his respective job?

It is almost June and I am glad you were so right, wait I got that wrong. You were wrong with how the Mets were going to play and Granderson hitting what .220 something and 6 HRs. Well the rest of the team is not doing much better no wonder the Mets finally fired the hitting coach Dave Hudgens. Hopefully terry Collins will be gone soon too.

So spring is here and money that the Mets spent was not only not enough, but was not a wise way to go. Colon as a mentor, get a pitching coach instead who's worth a damn and Granderson, coming off the injured season, will not be much better then what they had. Chris Young no way fills the whole in the OF which they were looking for. Oh well we can still cheer and chant Let's go Mets.
New York Mets 2/9/14
The Mets can win the opener see how it looks right now another long season. I heard Santana may sign a minor league contract. GO METS!!!

I have seen that tracker before and I never said he cannot hit one out he is not going to hit 25 HRs at Citii Field. We will see at the end of the 2014 season that Granderson power numbers so not match or come to close what you saw with the Yankees or Tigers. Granderson hit 41 home runs in 2011, when he led the American League in runs (136) and RBIs (119) and finished fourth in MVP voting. He had 43 homers and 106 RBIs in 2012, taking advantage of the short right-field porch at Yankee Stadium.

"The Mets hope his power will translate to spacious Citi Field, where it's more difficult to clear the fences." By MIKE FITZPATRICK AP Sports Writer, From 2011 to 2013, Yankee Stadium tied Coors Field as the easiest place for lefties to hit home runs in, according to the park factors in the 2013 Bill James Handbook. The move from Yankee Stadium to Citi Field could result in more of his fly balls staying in the ballpark and becoming outs, thus increasing his difficulty in reversing that downward trend in batting average. This is what all the experts are saying. So you can argue it but everyone see the same thing, his numbers where more because of where he played. You do not start building by going out and get a player with bad knees that is not smart business. Teams have gone from 3rd to first hell they have gone from last to first wait the BOSOX just done it last season and won the Series. Bsltimore did it in 2012, just didn't win the series. Washington did it in 2012. Milwakee and Cincinatii have done, and the list goes on and on so there is no reason not to play for 1st and put a team out there that can do.

No sir they would not have made it out of Citti Field, not sure where you are seeing that it would unless Mets move the fences in again. Most of his Hrs did not reach the 375 mark in RF where the majority of his HRs go, instaed you see many around the 368 mark sorry that is not going to make it. and Chris Young has not hit more then 14 HRs in the last two years. You want to play that game look at Ike Davis he is a 32 HR guy. . , Granderson, Young C. Wow Langaras needs to hit better then .240 or you will not see much of him and his defensive wont matter. For you to say three great defensive Of your standards must be really low, which I am sure then you will be really happy if the Mets place 3rd in the NLE in 2014.

Did you even wonder why the Yankees did not try to sign Granderson, besides the fact of him being hurt, there is no way he will hit in Citti Field the way hit hit at Yankees Stadium. So we are hoping for 20 HRs he does no hit over .260, maybe another .240 hitter. Wow a slight better then Lucas Duda, so what major upgrade for a player turning 33 did the Mets really get?

Good managers keep their players playing hard, and that's what Terry's done for the last two years. There's a reason the Mets gave him a new two year deal! And the Mets "didn't have the hitters to get key hits" because Alderson didn't have the money to spend on free agents. You can blame the Wilpons for that, not Alderson. And all teams give their prospects time to mature, rushing them is the worst thing you can do.
You continue to say he helped them play hard???? Like who, Davis, Duda Tejada, Vandspin, Brown, Cowgill, Burdak, Buck please I could go on, with more players from 2012 and 2011. He didnt keep them playing hard instead there was a lot of talk how many of the players were not taking advice from Collins, Hudgens and Warthen. You are right that is not ALL a manger does make moves, hate to tell you it is one of the most IMPORTANT things a manger does. MAKING CALLS IS WHAT HE GETS PAID FOR. Money really there were 19th out of 30 in 2013 and wait lets look yes Oakland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay were lower and they made the playoffs, Cleveland and KC also had a lower salary and did better. The problem is ones making decisions vai trades or draft not fanning out. Colin Cowgill really that was a smart move? Andrew Brown, another move not needed especially when the Mets needed pitching the last three years. If they are not going to bring people up get a reliever or two, instead of OFs who are not close of being ready. So again to say Sandy has done nothing but good or Collins kept them playing hard please Mike Cubage kept the team playing hard I still would not want him back. Played hard?? How many players hit over .260 last season or in 2012? I will tell you 5 in 2012 and 4 last season, that is down from 2011 which had 9 and 2 flirting with it. So to say he has them playing hard, is just funny.

The Mets ranked 29th out of all teams and 14 out 25 just in the NL, beating out the Marlins. Sandy has brought in pitchers which the Mets have not brought up because they are afraid of ruining which they said about Wheeler in 2012. Please so we watch Collins in 2012 blow games because he brought in Acosta and Bastista when the Mets were winning or tied to watch the game get out of hand. Dave Hudgens should be gone to with the way the Mets offense has been the last three years and him still being shows the lack of leadership on Sandy and putting a winning team out there for us fans. Don't kid yourself where the Mets sit right now they are not going to be higher then 3rd place for the next two years at least. Wow, looking forward to next season already? I guess it's never too soon! The Mets showed some bright spots in 2013, and 2014 should be a really fun year. The future is now! Top prospects such as Noah Syndergaard and Rafael Montero should be making their debuts this year and Sandy Alderson has made it clear that he will spend this offseason. The Mets are going to be contenders in 2014!

2013 is over and now we start 2014 with the Nats. If the Mets changed managment then they should go far.
