Just head that Suh is going to be fined $15,000 for his hit on little Cry-Baby Cutler.
Now that makes absolutely no sense, especially since the replays showed it was a legal hit. The NFL wants to fine Suh for being too big and strong. As soon as Cutler runs with the ball, Suh has every right to go after him.
I'm sorry, the NFL is turning into a joke! What's next? The National Flag-Football League??? Gimme a break!!!

It's the ego of Roger Goodell and his cronies. You think they'd ever admit they were at fault? Heck no. If they aren't careful, people won't care about a lockout because the game is becoming less physical than two hand touch.

In this respect, I definitely have to agree. The policy is a good one IMHO, but the application thusfar has been pathetic. The hit upon the Steelers TE should have resulted in a suspension; that hit was so viscous it could be considered a textbook example of why that rule was put in place.

I agree that it was a bad call, but a lot of Lions fans are acting as if it changed the outcome of the game. It was a essentially a 7 yard penalty on a 1st down play. The Bears were moving the ball pretty easily most of the day, especially in the second half. Instead of facing a second and 2 from the Detroit 14, the Bears had a first down at the 7.
Like I said, it was a bad call, but I think the Bears could of easily scored on that drive w/o the benefit of a bad call.

I don't disagree... the Lions really lost that game when they failed to convert on 4th down a bit earlier in the quarter. It was just after that Suh penalty that I realized the game was pretty much over. I am sure the Lions coaches will say "can't blame the refs" and I do agree, but it has been pretty frustrating to see so many bad calls go against the Lions this year. However, with all the screwed-up refs and rules, I am sure almost every team can complain about the officiating.
In any event, I was screaming at the TV when that flag came out on Suh... yes, it looked violent, but it didn't look like a forearm to me, even without the aid of a replay. I just hope the league doesn't start throwing 15-yard flags on Suh because he is a beast and when he pushes down a little QB, it "looks bad".
Oh well, trying to hold out hope that one day some of these Lions are able to turn things around - they seem to be getting closer, but yet, they are still a 2-10 football team. ugh!

I thought it was a pretty good game up until the refs stepped in and tossed that flag on Suh... this is football. The play looked violent because Suh is so huge compared to Cutler, but a forearm to the head??? Not even close. I just wish they would let these guys play ball.
Suh probably has to wonder what kind of league he is in... a couple of weeks ago he gets 15 yards for a legal tackle by grabbing someone's hair and now, he gets 15 yards for pushing down the QB who was fair game - he wasn't sliding or diving for a 1st down. Ugh!
Not making any excuses... the Bears won and Congrats to the Monsters of the Midway, but some of the officiating this year has been awful!
Let's go Lions... Beat Green Bay!

In fairness to the refs, they have to make a split second call in real time without the benefit of a net. When I first saw the play I thought it was an illegal hit as well because of how Suh's right forearm followed thru on the hit. Only after seeing numerous instant replays slowing the play down frame by frame could you make the case that the hit was legal. Unfortunately, you cant challenge calls like this. If they did, footballs games would last 4 or 5 hours

one play doeswnt make or break a game like that.if it was meant for the lions to win they would of won.but they never play in the fourth anyway.but look out for them next year.they could take first place.

Well, Just my opinion, but Detroit is a lot better team than what their record reflects this year--it's something the idiot sportscasters never focus upon when talking about teams and making their predictions so they never give the Lions due credit for the difficulties experienced by their opposition. They've only been re-building for 2 years now (since Millen's firing) by next year, the "black and blue" division will be regarded as one of the toughest in the league. Just my two copper pieces....
