Depends on which game you figure mattered. When they played in Seattle back in September 2010 the Huskers managed to score 56 points, which also happens to be the most points Nebraska scored in a game the entire season. A bowl game should never be a rematch of 2 teams that already played each other.
The parting gift of ther Holiday Bowl from the Texas and Diminishing Dwarves office certainly diminished NU's enthusiasm. The team took an excessively long Christmas Break. I expected so much more from the Huskers in 2010 than they delivered. I just don't see them cleaning up in 2011 in the Big Ten Plus N Conference.

Ouch. Washington got better during the year and Nebraska got worse. What is up with the quarterback / deer in the headlights?
Also won't someone please hire Shawn Watson so Bo can hire an effective offensive coordinator? Otherwise Bo could just look for a new one after releaseing Watson.

The QB Taylor Martinez simply hasn't played at the same level he played at before the injuries. He has an injury to his right ankle and another one to his left foot. Both Husker RBs have missed time due to injuries and both were visibly limping during the game. The Huskers top WR who is also one of the nations most dangerous kick return men broke his foot in practice about 4 weeks ago and was not effective. 2 defensive starters were suspended for the bowl game due to off the filed issues. Throw in the motivation factor for both teams, who really had something to prove in this game? Bottom line is Washington will play Nebraska yet again next year in Lincoln and the Huskers will definitely have the motivation factor on their side next year.

Yeah for real, seems to be working for wisconsin, big power running game. we need a BIG back, nothing against helu jr. or rex but we need a bruiser in their too.
Dontrayevous Robinson is pretty good sized but hasn't been all that productive in limited carries.

What I feared all along turned out happening. Washington wanted to be here and was ready to play. Nebraska didn't exactly want to be here and the offense simply did not show up. (What happened to the wildcat with Rex Burkhead running? This was an effective play all year long)
They never committed to it, washington had it sniffed out neway.

My sentiments exactly. The coaching staff needs to be addressed in the of season. That was pathetic.
We need some serious improvements if we hope to contend against Big-10 teams. I would be very surprised to see that read option in action next season. I for one am sick of it.

Bo Pelini needs to check himself and how he "prepares" his team. Callahan-like effort tonight. Horrible!

That safety just about nailed it shut.
Well, better luck next year.
Washington did everything they needed to win. They made Nebraska one dimensional and stuck it to em!

WTF!?! Crappy lack of tackling on that TD run...
They are just beating up the D-Line of NU. They gotta step up. They are missing Steinkhuler now for sure.

Keys for the second half: Nebraska needs to focus, coaching has to get better, better ball security and they need to get that chip on their shoulder I was talkin about earlier. In the first half they floated through. They have to want it more and right now... Washington is playing like they want it more. If Washington comes out winging and again, and can get that passing game ticking, they could win this game. The Blackshirts are playing lights out but the front line has to step up and slow down the running game. If Nebraska can get just one spark, a pick six or a big special teams play, it might light a fire for the offense.

289 yards for Helu would surprise me. I do expect Burkhead to hit 1,000 yards though.
Yeah, I have to agree with you.
Just getting a bit fired up for the game!

In addition to my last post.... The Huskers have to hold on to the ball, they will learn in a hurry, it does not matter who you play, you put the ball on the ground too many times in a big bowl game, you are going to lose! Hope they did lots of Gauntlets in practice this month.....

Sorry Huskies fans but this time it's gonna be worse. Nebraska comes in tonight with a big chip on their shoulder. Most NU fans will tell you that nearly every string possible was pulled to keep the beloved Huskers out of Big-12 glory this season. A payback from the league if you will. Then they lose the championship game by 3 points and watch unranked UCONN hit a BCS bowl. Now they get sent to a bowl game they played in last year against a 6-6 team they already demoralized earlier in the year. I personally (of course) can neither confirm or deny any conspiracy theories nor can I ignore the fact that Nebraska shot themselves in the foot a few times too many as well, but what I can say is this: Nebraska has a point to prove in this bowl game and do not be surprised to see a 40 or 50 point margin of victory and some really aggressive Huskers. However..... I have seen enough football games to know that any given team on any given day can pull it all together and win a big football game, especially when they need it most. Washington, who was barely bowl eligible in the first place, really needs this bowl win against a "bigger" ranked opponent. Do not look for the Huskies to just lay down and take their beating, they are going to be a team hungry for big upset and will scrap to the very end. Jake Locker, after a dismal season (by his standards), will be looking to upgrade his NFL stock with a big performance against a world class secondary. He should be at the top of his game and if he stays mistake free, this could be a whole different ball game.
In the end this will be an all or nothing game for Washington. They have to play perfectly and keep it close to have a chance.
My prediction is that mistakes early and often by Washington, will put Nebraska in a position to open the slaughterhouse doors and lead the Huskies in one by one. 55-3 NU dismantles a drastically overmatched Huskies team.

It's actually snowing a little today here in Tucson. Very strange. Great excuse to stay inside and watch football the entire day!
