Based on the age, Monfils is younger, stronger and the "todays' player". Sampras is older though he was the famous champion. Sampras did not want to win. He is still champion. If Monfils oppose me in the tennis court, if I'm in the same age, ofcourse with my spin, I surely will be able to "conquer" Monfils!

Pete Sampras no doubt is a legend but I personally feel that Gael Monfils would beat him because he is playing tennis continuously for quite some time unlike Sampras. Another factor is that Sampras would be a little older and slower while compared to Gael.

Undoubtedly Pete is one of the greatest ever. Monfils yet to fulfill his great potential. However Pete is tournament rusty and Monfils more fit. I give it to Monfils but it will be a close finish.
