Just because you aren't watching it,doesn't mean the ratings will go down.Real Hockey fans appreciate, great teams and Detroit isn't one of them. You will miss a great series where the real #1 and #2 seeds battle it out. I will be thinking about you when the Sharks win the Stanley cup this year, and bring the trophy back to the best state in America. CALIFORNIA baby......
Well, using your logic, the cup shouldnt be going to california. If the REAL #1 and #2 seeds are battling it out, #1 should win.

Congrats to the Sharks--Heck of a series and wish you luck with the Canucks.

Color me not surprised at all to hear the silence of the biggest smack talking Wing fans in these threads. I think it would kill them to actually congratulate the Sharks on this hard fought victory.

No one thought this would be easy... It was so hard to win the Sharks were unable to keep the intensity up for all games... But both teams showed and put on an intense game 7. Whew....

Well, that was a heckuva game and a heckuva series... Didn't quite end the way I had hoped, but so proud that the Wings never stopped fighting, especially after falling down 3 games to none. I suspect some of the Sharks fans were getting a little nervous at the end - I know I wouldn't have been surprised to see the Wings score a late goal to force overtime. Niemi was tough to crack.
Congrats to the Sharks... Other than Thornton, I wish those guys the best of luck in the next round.

that setup by zetterburg was the killer... he got it back but the damage was done. can't blame zetteberg. they sure made it exciting but when you lose 2 players and a 3rd one was on IR what can you do? we didn't do it but give full credit to joe and his team. vancouver is next... go canucks go!
I thought you weren't talking about this game. You are so lucky you cannot take respects back once you give them out.

Congrats to the Sharks for winning the series, and Congrats to the Wings as well, for making life interesting by going the full 7!! Good Luck Shark fans!!

a news paper journalist coined that about "dead wings" 50yrs ago when detroit had a very listless team.... and then stevey Y came along... what a classy team it became

History was made... Sharks just won the closest series statistically in the history of the Stanley Cup Playoffs...

Sharks showed the wings their toughness and true grit I feel confident enough to say that they can and will beat the Canucks

"Dead Wings" how clever. Did you come up with that yourself?
Signed, The Dallas Cowgirls, Notre Lame, and Pittsburgh Kneelers.
Come on name calling is so stupid and childish

Dead Wings comes from the bad teams Detroit had from the late 60's to the early 80's. I believe it was their own city and fans that came up with that name.

OK Sharks.... Your prize for beating the Wings? An even TOUGHER team in the Canucks.... It's not getting any easier... But this crew is up for the challenge!!!!!

Heck ya! It was a hell of a game 7 and a hell of a series. Congratulations to the Sharks, Niemi made a ton of huge saves tonight.

Well it was one hell of a series. Great effort by both teams. Congratulations to the Sharks and a well done to the Redwings for battling back from 3 games down and making a series out of it.

Always like the traditional handshake after a series of beating each other up,
which reminds me.... Let's keep the postgame chat in this bar civil. Both teams played a fantastic series, 6 of the 7 games were decided by a goal but one team had to lose.

The Dead Wings really have taken over the game now. Too bad it is over, and they lost.

Wings down two wingers with Bertuzzi leaving in the first period and Cleary just getting his bell rung by his own teammate.
respect
And just like that the Wings are back in it. Sharks tried to get cute in the offensive zone, the Wings broke it up and Zetterberg scores on a 3-2 break. Sharks up 2-1

CSNBA has just reported that Clowe will be on the ice tonight. Don't think many are surprised by that.

I was being somewhat facetious. This is all in good fun. (At least, it's supposed to be)
respect
Hasn't been announced yet... But Clowe is in the building. And looks like he may be on the ice. To be honest, I feel like he'd have to have his arm practically hacked off to miss this game.

I find myself agreeing with what the Sharks TV play by play guy just said in the pre-game... For the Sharks to win they have to outwork or match the work of the Wings. They certainly have shown they can. The question is... Will they? IT would be a dark day for the NHL if they don't.
It would be a dark day for San Jose, the NHL will be just fine either way.
