Scott, check this out from Bleacher Report: '..One commentator kept complimenting Nick Collison on his great defense, an integral part of that defense was holding Dirk Nowitzki on the left side on every move he made. That foul could have been called the whole game. It was not until late in the game, with the mugging continuing but with Nowitzki finally getting to the line, making 14 of 15 free throws..' (At least some sports writer of note appears to agree with assessment that Collison had Dirk's number ..for a while anyway.. ',o)
Having someone's number, and being able to legally defend someone is two different things.
I didn't really see a lot wrong with Collison's aggression, and I commend him on being the only player in 3 series' to actually be able to slow Dirk down. His offense was great (Collison) as well. Problem is that late in the game, when the game is on the line, they are going to start calling more fouls for holds.

The problem is that there are others on the team who could probably fill the PG role better than him at this point in time. Hell... I'd give Collison the ball 3x as much as Westbrook. The Mavs have someone who I beleive will be better than Westbrook in the long-haul (Beaubois), but he's not playing because Carisle believes he is too "iffy" at this point in his career. Although, he could have gotten rookie of the year a couple years ago had he actually played more than 2 minutes a game.

How did the Mav's win? haha...statistics are great--but ever get the 'feeling' of the game...attitude...and determination of the players really tells the tale better?

Agreed that you could almost hear the wind coming out of the 'Thunder' in the fourth quarter Monday evening...momentum is everything in the NBA playoffs...look for the same situation this evening...home sweet home for the Mav's...bring on the Heat! Losing in overtime is extremely difficult in the long run---what a difference five minutes makes...

Collison already has Dirk's number, as he well displayed in the last game. 2nite, Collison shuts down Dirk with his counter Dirk Snirk, and he and the team subdue the not so much a Kidd anymore ..providing an even greater comeback than last game's Mav rebound

yes, 2nite ..youth and preserverance finally overcome old age and trechery. Young THUNDER finally figure out ..YES! WE ARE THAT GOOOOOD...! THUNDER sustain their containment plan and load up the boards with points and rebounds... THUNDER by 10! (and this time ...I MEAN IT..!)

as for 2nite: Still (despite my previous %) predicting a THUNDER WIN. Hardin comes with Collison, Durant, Westbrook to form a strong tetrahedron of inpenetrable strength and accuracy. THUNDER 'D' has already proven they're up to sequestering Mav 'O'. Now the young men need to ponder their previous performances ..and grasp the reality of belief in themselves. THUNDER do it 2nite.

Westbrook isnt consistently team oriented enough to be a true point guard. Too many times in the big games tries to be the man and forces things instead of running the offense thru Kevin Durant.
