Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Jed Lowrie hit his first career grand slam to cap a five-run sixth inning as Boston outslugged Cleveland, 12-7, in the season and series finale for both clubs from Fenway Park.
J.D. Drew homered twice, Dustin Pedroia hit a two-run shot and David Ortiz also drove in two runs for the Red Sox (95-67), who ended the regular season by sweeping the four-game set.
Michael Bowden (1-1) hurled 2 2/3 innings of relief for the win, scattering a run and three hits. Starter Clay Buchholz was tagged for five hits and six runs over three innings for Boston, which plays the Angels in the American League Division series later this week.
Jhonny Peralta and Andy Marte each knocked in two runs and Luis Valbuena went deep for the Indians (65-97), who ended the year by suffering their sixth loss in seven games.
Tomo Ohka (1-5) yielded six hits and seven runs over five full frames in defeat.
