By Sports Network
Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - Travis Snider finished 3-for-3 with a home run and Jesse Litsch hurled nine scoreless innings as Toronto routed Minnesota, 9-0, in the finale of a three-game set from Rogers Centre.
Adam Lind had three hits and drove in a run for the Blue Jays, who swept the series and have won five straight. Vernon Wells homered and drove in two runs, while Joe Inglett and Alex Rios chipped in two RBI each.
Litsch (10-8) recorded his second complete game of the season and of his career, allowing four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Denard Span had a pair of hits for the Twins, who have lost four of five and slipped 1 1/2 games behind idle Chicago in the AL Central.
Starter Kevin Slowey (11-9) took the loss for Minnesota, charged with 10 hits and three runs over 5 2/3 innings.
The Jays got a run in the first as Inglett was hit by a Slowey pitch to start the inning, then scored on a Wells sacrifice fly.
Snider's leadoff blast in the fifth -- his first career home run -- made it 2-0, and his two-out RBI single in the sixth boosted Toronto's lead to three.
Wells launched a two-out solo homer to left in the seventh off Jesse Crain for a 4-0 game, and the Jays poured it on with a five-run eighth. Inglett doubled home two runs, a Rios single plated a pair and Lind's double knocked in the final run.
Litsch completed his shutout by retiring the Twins in order in the ninth.
