Recap: Kansas State vs. Loyola-Chicago

Manhattan, KS (Sports Network) - Curtis Kelly scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Kansas State Wildcats to a convincing, 92-54 victory over the Loyola-Chicago Ramblers in a non-conference battle at Bramlage Coliseum.
Jacob Pullen added 15 points for KSU (1-0), while Jamar Samuels and Rodney McGruder both tallied 11 points apiece. Denis Clemente tallied 10 points in the win for the Wildcats.
Marcus Thomas led Loyola-Chicago (0-1) with 13 points off the bench, while Terrance Hill chipped in 10 points, but also committed seven turnovers.
The Wildcats played tenacious defense in the opening half, limiting Loyola- Chicago to a pathetic 14.7 percent shooting effort. The strong defense, along with solid offensive play gave the Wildcats a comfortable 37-18 lead at halftime.
Kansas State continued its dominance in the second stanza, shooting 57.1 percent en route to the 38-point victory.
The Wildcats made 27-of-39 foul shots in the contest, while the Ramblers connected on just 14-of-23 attempts from the charity stripe.
