Recap: Ohio State vs. Samford

Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - Evan Turner scored 16 points and pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds as the Ohio State Buckeyes took the bite out of the Samford Bulldogs, 59-22, in non-conference action at Value City Arena.
Turner also dished out four assists and had five steals, both of which were game highs, while Dallas Lauderdale chipped in with 10 points and eight boards of his own for the Buckeyes (3-0).
Bryan Friday scored eight points for the Bulldogs (3-2) but no one else on the squad made more than a single field goal in the setback.
Samford did not record its first field goal until about seven-and-a-half minutes into the first half and, after scoring on back-to-back possessions, did not score again for another eight-and-a-half minutes. The Bulldogs were just 3-of-23 from the floor, including 0-of-7 from behind the arc, and went into the locker room trailing 30-6.
The second half was much of the same story for the Bulldogs as they shot a mere 6-of-25 from the floor and 2-of-11 beyond the arc.
Despite almost doubling up the Bulldogs on the glass (47-25) the Buckeyes turned the ball over 18 times and struggled from three-point range, converting just 4-of-17 (23.5 percent). The Bulldogs only went to the charity stripe three times the entire afternoon.
