Recap: Ole Miss vs. Arkansas

Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Jevan Snead threw for a career-high 332 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a score, as the Ole Miss Rebels notched a 30-17 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks in an SEC clash at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Dexter McCluster ran for a career-best 123 yards and also had seven catches for 137 yards and a touchdown for Ole Miss (4-2, 2-2 SEC).

Arkansas (3-4, 1-4) quarterback Ryan Mallett completed 12-of-34 passes for 254 yards and a touchdown, though he was also sacked four times.

The Rebels took the opening kickoff and drove 73 yards in 10 plays, with Snead scoring on a one-yard plunge.

Ole Miss extended its lead to 14-0 in the final minute of the first quarter, when Snead hooked up with Shay Hodge for a 25-yard touchdown pass.

Rebels kicker Joshua Shene made it a 17-0 game with a 22-yard field goal at the 4:12 mark of the second quarter, capping an 11-play, 81-yard drive.

Arkansas answered with a seven-play, 80-yard drive, as Knile Davis punched it into the end zone on a three-yard run to pull the Razorbacks to within 10.

Arkansas kicker Alex Tejada cut the deficit to 17-10 with a 44-yard field goal at the 9:40 mark of the third quarter.

But Snead answered with another big play, as he found McCluster for a 64-yard scoring strike to put the Rebels back on top by 14.

The Razorbacks struck back with a big play of their own, as Mallett hit Carlton Salters for a 58-yard touchdown pass to make it a 24-17 game with 5:33 to play in the third quarter.

Ole Miss milked the clock with a pair of fourth-quarter scoring drives that chewed up a combined 12 minutes. Shene capped those drives with field goals of 39 and 19 yards.

This is the second straight year Ole Miss has beaten Arkansas. Rebels head coach Houston Nutt spent 10 years with the Razorbacks before leaving for Ole Miss in 2007.
