Recap: Chicago vs. Jacksonville

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Kyle Orton completed 20-of-34 passes for 219 yards and a pair of touchdowns, as Chicago shut down Jacksonville, 23-10, at Soldier Field.
Devin Hester had five receptions for 80 yards for the Bears (7-6), who have won two of three but remained one game behind first-place Minnesota in the NFC North after the Vikings squeaked by winless Detroit, 20-16.
Matt Forte added 69 rushing yards on 21 carries while Desmond Clark and Greg Olsen registered a touchdown reception each.
David Garrard threw for 178 yards, one score and an interception for the Jaguars (4-9), who have dropped four in a row.
Maurice Jones-Drew led Jacksonville with 55 yards on 12 rushes, and had 47 receiving yards and the club's only touchdown on seven receptions.
Garrard was picked off on the third play from scrimmage as Danieal Manning took the ball back 42 yards to the Jags' five. Two plays later Orton hit Clark in the end zone for a 7-0 game.
Jacksonville responded on its following series, going 51 yards in 12 plays and coming within 7-3 on Josh Scobee's 42-yard field goal. Bears kicker Robbie Gould then closed out Chicago's following series on a 22-yard make for a 10-3 lead late in the first.
Gould added a 36-yarder with 2:44 left in the half and the Bears were ahead by 10, then Orton connected with Olsen for a 22-yard score with 18 seconds left and a 20-3 edge.
Jones-Drew capped a 76-yard, nine-play drive with a four-yard TD reception that brought the Jaguars within 20-10 early in the fourth quarter, but the Bears countered on the next drive with a 35-yarder by Gould.
Chicago's defense took over from there, holding the Jags to a three-and-out on their next series, then holding Marcedes Lewis to five yards on a 4th-and-6 from the Jacksonville 48 with 2:44 left in the contest.
