Recap: Washington vs. Philadelphia

Landover, MD (Sports Network) - DeSean Jackson ran 67 yards for a score and caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb, as the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Washington Redskins, 27-17, at FedEx Field.

McNabb completed 15-of-25 passes for 156 yards for the Eagles (4-2), who bounced back from an ugly 13-9 loss at Oakland last week.

Linebacker Will Witherspoon, who was traded from the Rams two days after the loss to the Raiders, returned an interception for a touchdown and forced a fumble, leading to a David Akers field goal.

The Eagles played the majority of the game without running back Brian Westbrook, who departed in the first quarter with a concussion.

It was another tough night for the Redskins, who made a change last week when they announced head coach Jim Zorn would no longer call offensive plays. The job went to Sherman Lewis, who joined the team within the last month as an offensive consultant, but the move didn't help Washington.

Jason Campbell struggled with the Philadelphia blitz and finished 29-of-43 passing for 284 yards with a pair of TDs and an interception for the Redskins (2-5), who lost for a third straight week. Campbell was sacked six times.

The Eagles scored just four plays after the opening kickoff as Jackson took a handoff on an end-around and bolted down the left sideline for a 67-yard score.

Westbrook was hurt midway through the quarter on a running play. The knee of Washington linebacker London Fletcher hit the helmet of Westbrook.

Philadelphia's defense came up big later in the opening quarter to extend the lead to 14-0. Safety Quintin Mikell came on the blitz and deflected the ball at the line of scrimmage. Witherspoon picked it out of the air and ran nine yards to the end zone.

Witherspoon forced a turnover on the first play of the second quarter, racing from behind to strip the ball from Campbell. Mikell recovered, and four plays later Akers' 47-yard field goal made it 17-0.

Washington finally got on the scoreboard thanks to Campbell's two-yard TD pass to Devin Thomas in the back right corner of the end zone with eight minutes left in the half.

The Eagles caught another break when Antwaan Randle El muffed a punt return as the ball clanked off his facemask. Sean Jones recovered for the Eagles at the Washington 25, leading to an Akers 44-yard field goal.

McNabb's 57-yard bomb to Jackson for a score with 1:50 left in the half moved the margin to 27-7. On 3rd-and-22, Jackson got behind the defense on a blown coverage and easily made it to the end zone. It marked the first time all season the Eagles converted a play of third down for 10 or more yards. It was also McNabb's 200th career touchdown pass.

Shaun Suisham's 47-yard field goal with a second remaining brought the Redskins within 27-10 at the half.

The Redskins punted three times and the Eagles kicked the ball away twice in the third quarter.

A play that typified Washington's night was a 4th-and-goal opportunity from the four inside six minutes left, the Redskins had a bad snap and Brodrick Bunkley recovered for the Eagles, giving Washington its fourth turnover of the night.

Tight end Fred Davis scored his first NFL touchdown, catching a one-yard pass from Campbell with 1:38 left.

Washington was unsuccessful on the ensuing onside kick and the Eagles ran out the remaining time.
