Recap: New Jersey vs. Anaheim
By Sports Network
Newark, NJ (Sports Network) - Martin Brodeur made 31 stops as New Jersey posted a 3-1 win over Anaheim at Prudential Center.
Jamie Langenbrunner, David Clarkson and Zach Parise scored for the Devils, who have reeled off six wins in succession despite scoring no more than three goals in each contest.
Corey Perry provided the lone offense for the Ducks, who had won two in a row, both at home, coming into Wednesday's game. Jonas Hiller stopped 22 shots in defeat.
Clarkson put the Devils ahead to stay with 7:08 to play in the middle period, splitting the Anaheim defense in the neutral zone and slipping a wrister home from the high slot.
Parise made it 3-1 on a short-handed tally with 13 seconds left in the second, as he followed his own rebound and battled Hiller while poking the puck into the net while in the crease.
The Devils failed to extend their lead with a 5-on-3 advantage late in the third period, but managed to hold off the Ducks on their power play shortly after.
Hiller went to the bench for an extra skater with 1:15 to play but the Ducks failed to dent Brodeur.
Langenbrunner put the Devils on the board just 38 seconds into the contest, and Perry tallied for the Ducks 2:25 into the second.
