Recap: Vancouver vs. Colorado
By Sports Network
Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Andrew Raycroft stopped 18 shots for his seventh career shutout as Vancouver sent the Avalanche to their second two- game skid of the season, 3-0, at General Motors Place.
Tanner Glass, Ryan Kesler and Mason Raymond scored for the Canucks, who won for the fifth time in seven games.
This was just the fifth game, including third start, for Raycroft this season.
After an incredible 10-2-2 mark in October, the Avalanche started November on a down note. Colorado, coming off a 3-1 regulation loss Friday at San Jose, failed to score on a two-man advantage in the first period after penalties to Kevin Bieksa and Shane O'Brien.
This marked the first time the Avalanche have dropped two straight games in regulation. Colorado lost October 8 and 10 at Nashville and at Chicago, but the game against the Blackhawks was in a shootout.
Craig Anderson, who tied the NHL record for wins by a goaltender in the month of October with 10, gave up three goals on 20 shots.
Raymond scored 11:05 into the game on a rebound from the left side of the net.
Kesler doubled the advantage 6:28 into the second, tucking in a rebound past Anderson. The netminder made the initial save off a shot from the high slot, but the puck got behind Anderson where Kesler mopped up for the easy goal.
Glass scored his second career NHL goal at 9:25 of the third on a wrist shot from the right circle. The disc deflected off the skate of Avalanche defenseman Scott Hannan and into the net.
