Recap: Detroit vs. Columbus

Detroit, MI (Sports Network) - Marian Hossa's second goal of the game came with two minutes left to lead the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets at Joe Louis Arena.

With time winding down in the third period, Detroit took a 4-3 lead. A left circle faceoff draw was won by Pavel Datsyuk. The puck went to the right side where Hossa poked it forward, then kicked the puck from his skate to his stick and swept a shot from the low left side past Pascal Leclaire with two minutes left.

From there the Red Wings held off the Blue Jackets and Kris Draper's empty- netter sealed the victory.

Henrik Zetterberg had a goal and an assist while Jiri Hudler also lit the lamp for the Red Wings, who snapped a two-game slide.

Chris Osgood made 13 stops and gave up a goal on a slap shot from mid-ice. However, he made enough saves to record the 372nd win of his career and tie Andy Moog for 13th all-time.

Fedor Tyutin scored twice while Jakub Voracek added the other marker for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped four of their last five games. Leclaire made 30 saves in the defeat.

Columbus drew first blood with six minutes left in the first period as R.J. Umberger fired a one-timer from the slot that Osgood stopped, but Voracek was on the doorstep to knock in the rebound.

Detroit, though, got the goal back on the power play as Zetterberg snapped a wrister on net from the right circle that got through a screen and past Leclaire with 2:54 left in the first.

Skating on the power play, Detroit took a 2-1 lead as good puck movement resulted in the puck getting down low, and Hudler jammed it in from the right side at the 8:43 mark of the second.

Columbus answered with 2:32 left in the second as Tyutin's wrister at the left point beat Osgood.

The Red Wings, however, took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission as Datsyuk sent a backhand pass from the left boards to the left point where Hossa blasted a one-timer past Leclaire with just 26 ticks left on the clock.

Tyutin got his second goal of the game on a shot that Osgood would want to have back. Tyutin skated the puck out of his zone and from the center ice faceoff circle fired a slap shot. The puck fooled Osgood and found the back of the net just 1:17 into the final frame.
