Recap: Los Angeles vs. Columbus

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Jason LaBarbera logged his second shutout of the year and fourth of his career, and the Los Angeles Kings got the best of the Columbus Blue Jackets, 3-0.
LaBarbera was perfect on 23 shots faced, while Wayne Simmonds, Kyle Calder and Anze Kopitar provided the Kings offense with a goal apiece, as the club snapped a three-game skid.
Steve Mason stopped 15-of-17 shots for the Blue Jackets, who have lost two straight and four of six.
After a first period that saw a mere five combined shots, Simmonds tallied the first goal just 2:39 into the second frame with his a wrister from the right circle.
Patrick O'Sullivan was denied on a penalty shot that could have extended the lead roughly four minutes later, but Calder lit the lamp with 6:31 to play in the second for a 2-0 lead.
Columbus couldn't get anything going on offense in the game. The visitors pulled the goal with a minute left, but Kopitar found the back of the net from the offensive line to seal the win with 13 ticks remaining.
