Recap: Vancouver vs. Detroit

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - Jason Williams scored the game-winning goal with about five minutes to play in the third period, as the Detroit Red Wings edged Vancouver, 5-4, to snap the Canucks' five-game home winning streak.
Williams also had an assist for the Red Wings, who picked up their first road victory (1-3-1) of the season. Pavel Datsyuk had two goals and an assist to help Detroit snap a three-game skid. Tomas Holmstrom added a goal and an assist, while Niklas Kronwall lit the lamp for the victors.
Chris Osgood allowed two goals on four shots before being pulled in the first period. James Howard took over between the pipes and turned aside 20-of-22 shots in the win.
Henrik Sedin finished with two goals and an assist for the Canucks, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Christian Ehrhoff and Mathieu Schneider each had a goal for Vancouver, which finished a three-game homestand with a 2-1-0 mark. Roberto Luongo stopped 37-of-42 shots in defeat.
