Why does it take over a week for new avatars to appear?

Whenever I change my default picture, it will take well over a week to appear to everyone else. I changed my photo last week and I am still waiting. I know I'm not the only one with this problem, some of my friends (e.g. Cali_Kat) have had the same problem. Is it a glitch in the server?

#1 \| 1190 days ago Chief_aka_James (+)	I know it happens to a lot of people on here, but one thing I did when I changed mine recently was sign out completely, close the browser, and sign back in. It worked quickly for me and know it's not the same for everyone, but all I can really suggest. I don't know if it's a glitch or if it's server problems.

And I can't see yours James. The "Image Not Available" thing I think is a separate issue, as it depends which browser you are on to see them. If I'm on IE and looking at this thread, I can't see any of our three, if in Firefox, I can see all of them, if in Opera, I can't see Kathy's - it's confusing to say the least.

#5 \| 1189 days ago Jess (+)	This is definitely a server issue that we've been fighting with for a while. I can't see yours Kenne (as well as anyone else's besides Robb's), but when you gave me a Respect yesterday, it showed up by your name in my "New Respect" thing - sometimes I don't see them in the forums but I see them in the friends feeds, etc. The techs are definitely aware of this problem and have been working on a permanent solution (server issues are a pain).

It's just something we don't know and don't have an answer to. I know that sucks, but just something "we" (mods, Jess, techs, etc.) don't know what makes the difference for some peoples photos to show and others don't.
