smileyheart  She's a little sickly (respiratory infection and being spayed earlier today), she's a little shy, and she's none too sure about going up and down stairs to get in a beach house, but I think she's gonna feel at home in no time.

Heartbreak and devastation today...took her to the vet because she wouldn't eat and couldn't even keep water down.  Diagnosis:  parvo.  Will be 'touch and go' for her over next few days.  Please say a prayer, cross your fingers, or do whatever you do to send well wishes her way.  And thank you for all the compliments.  Mom kinda thinks she's gorgeous.

Oh no Jan, I'm sorry! As someone who worked as a vet tech for a few years, I've seen poor pups suffer from parvo all too often. The older, the better though...seems like the older juveniles tend to pull out of it easier than the babies. Best of luck, and I'll hold her in my thoughts!

Thanks Jess.  She is older (estimated 6 mos), but she is skin and bones even though you can't tell in the pic.  I know I was probably crazy for adopting a sickly one, but I fell in love.  She is so sweet...I just wanted to give her a chance.  Trying to take solace in the fact that she had one comfy night in a home.  Not much comfort, but at least I gave her that.

Got a wide, wide big-a** ol' grin on my face!!! Was getting ready to go see pup, vet called, heart dropped. BUT, he was calling to tell me that she was doing so well, and getting so energetic, he was afraid she would get too excited for them to do the planned transition from IV to oral meds this afternoon. She's had 2 small meals now, and if she does ok on the med switch and continues to keep food down, she may be coming home tomorrow! He still cautioned me that things can change suddenly with parvo pups, but also said he had discussed her with the other doctors in the office. They all agreed that every now and then a 'little miracle dog' comes along that they can't really explain, and they think I may have one!
