Seahawks overcome poor start to rally past Lions |
Seattle, WA (Sports Network) - Matt Hasselbeck threw for 329 yards and a touchdown, and the Seahawks defense recorded five interceptions, as Seattle rallied to beat the lowly Detroit Lions, 32-20, in Week 9 action at Qwest Field.
Hasselbeck completed 39-of-51 passes and threw one interception for the Seahawks (3-5), who snapped a two-game skid. Julius Jones rushed for 36 yards and a score on 16 carries. He also caught six passes for 78 yards. T.J. Houshmandzadeh hauled in six passes for 34 yards and a TD.
Matthew Stafford connected on 22-of-42 passes for 203 yards and two touchdowns for the Lions (1-7), who were coming off a 17-10 loss to the Rams last Sunday. Brandon Pettigrew caught seven passes for 70 yards and a score. Bryant Johnson hauled in two balls for 35 yards and a TD. Kevin Smith rushed for 67 yards on 13 carries in defeat. Calvin Johnson, who returned after missing the last two games with a knee injury, had just two catches for 27 yards.
