You sound like one of those people who are ignoring obvious factors such as her wrist injuries.

Also what exactly has Ms. Wie done that is cause for people to hate on her?  Have you ever met her or even watched her play in person?  I have watched her in person and she has usually been gracious and outwardly appreciative of fan support (flashing occasional smiles and modestly waving during the course of her 18 holes).

+1 thumbs upThe thing that bothers me the most about her, is her trying to make it on the PGA tour. If she can fine. But she should learn how to win on the LPGA tour first. Plus not alienate her fellow golfers. Plus withdrawing after 16 holes at the Ginn tribute because she was +14 and in danger of being ineligible to play in any LPGA sponsor events if she shot an 88 or higher. If her wrist is that bad DO NOT ENTER the event. Now if she learns how to win on the LPGA and can successfully compete on the PGA more power to her. But she has brought a lot of on herself.  That being said I hope she does well this year, but we will see

Probably shouldn't waste my time because you sound like a person who has come to a conclusion and will not consider the actual facts involving the situation to perhaps adjust your view, but here goes. . .

Why do you believe a person needs to win or "learn how to win" in the LPGA before competing in the PGA?  Either Wie can compete (meaning she can hold her own against men) in the PGA or she can't.  What does proving she can beat women have to do with that?  NOTHING!!!  Even if it were a legimitate prerequisite, she has already shown that her ability is superior to most of the women in the LPGA.  She consistently drives the ball further and when she has been healthy and on her game, puts just as well or better than the women from what I've observed over the past four years.  By your logic, and admittedly others have expressed similar ideas, should she dominate the LPGA for a few years like Annika Sorenstam and then step up to the challenge of competing with men?  Doesn't it take more heart and determination to say, "I think I can compete with men and that's what I'm going to try to do"?

Regarding her dropping out of the Ginn, you can speculate what her motivation was for dropping out, however, why not focus on why she was even trying to play.  She obviously has a highly competitive spirit and thought she could overcome her physical limitations.  Perhaps she was overconfident, but is it fair (and does it even make sense) to criticize her for trying to play through injury?  Haven't you ever taken on more than you could handle and only come to the realization after it was too late?  Sometimes we make miscalculations, especially when we are young.

She played thru 16. Finish. Pure and simple. Plus she has not even one a single LPGA event. I have nothing against her. But she is a media creation. Win something to warrant all the press. There are grat women golfers out there who deserve the press that are getting squat. Lets see Ochoa, Pressler, are to name a few that are better than her. back to quitting at Ginn not only did she alienate her fellow golfers she disrespected them. If it hurt so bad after 16 why not quit after 9? Its a bead precedent to set. Plus nobaody will ever convince me she quit because of the chance of not being able tp play in anymore events that year. Plus her adivsor is her DAD. I dont think he is young and he has her ear

+1 thumbs upMichelle herself, I don't have much problems with.
Her father tried to be Earl Woods. Earl deserves an incredible amount of credit for what Tiger is today.
And sadly, by the same token BJ Wie deserves the same credit for how Michelle has failed: His advising her to turn pro was the mistake. She is enrolled in Stanford now. How nice it would have turned out in my opinion if he would have just said NO to Nike and right now she would be enjoying her college years, being a teenager and then post-teen with all the things that go with it, playing a little golf, finding out what motivates her. Unfortunately it seems she's trapped now by that $20 million monster.
