+1 thumbs upThey both fill up a stat sheet and have rings, mvp's, HOF, but The Magic Man always has the ball in his hand so he'd be easier to get in rhythm.

Bird was something I've never seen before. I played organized ball when I was younger and white kids, though some were pretty good..none of them did the things Bird did game in and game out. In my older years, I've come to recognize Magic as the best point guard ever..man that's hard to admit..but it's true! He's LaBron James without the enormous athletic ability...incredible leadership skills and ridiculously great ball handler.

In 1986-1987, He became the first player ever to shoot at least .500 from the floor (.525) and .900 from the free throw line (.910) in the same season. In classic Bird fashion, he proved that was no fluke by doing it again the following season (.527 and .916). And he still managed to average more than nine rebounds and six assists both seasons.

In Game 7 of the 1988 Eastern Conference semifinals against the Atlanta Hawks, Bird shot 9 of 10 from the floor in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points in that quarter and lifting the Celtics to a series-clinching victory over Atlanta.
On March 31, 1991, the Celtics played a double overtime game with the Chicago Bulls in their last meeting of the season. In the second overtime period, Bird scored 9 points on 4 of 5 shooting from the field and helped the Celtics beat the Bulls, 135–132. Many called this particular game Bird's finest performance against Michael Jordan.
Won the first ever 3 point shootout contest in the all stars weekend and repeated it 2 more times for 3 titles.

During his career he shot .496 from the floor and .886 from the free-throw line, ranking fifth all-time in the latter category behind Mark Price, Rick Barry, Calvin Murphy and Scott Skiles.

This is a close one, I give the edge to Magic because he was the better ball handler and he made his team mates much, much, much better. This is the best one-on-one sports rival I had the thrill watching. Every year when the NBA  schedule came out, the Lakers-Celtics game were circled and those times were blocked off to watch the awesome games these two teams put on.

i would have to go with Magic because he could do it all, and Bird was great at shooting but not that great at everything else

+1 thumbs upHe could do quite a bit more than shoot  He averaged 10 rebounds for his career, and over 6 assists. He was also one of the best clutch players of all time, only Jordon was better in the clutch. Also had injury problems his last 3 or 4 years, but I can understand why you picked Magic.

im just saying Bird was know for his amazing shooting and with his shotting their was no need to realize his rebounds or assists. But Magic being a point who was a crisp passer, above average shooter, and convincing rebounder. He is just noted for them all.
