Cardinals' New Batting Coach
The newest bombshell is the St. Louis Cardinals have hired former First Baseman, Mark McGwire, to replace Hal McRae for 2010.

Question 1: Good Idea?
Great Idea! He will help the team, like he has Matt Holliday and Skip Shumaker
Bad Idea! He was a power guy, not an averages guy
Horrible Idea! Can you say steroids?
Wait-n-See! He could help, or he could hurt - have no idea
PR Move! LaRussa is only doing this to sell tickets
Nepotism! LaRussa is only doing this to get an old friend a job
OTHER - please explain

Question 2: Distraction?
Of course it is! The media will make a zoo out of it
No Way! It's over - no one cares any more
Could be! This is Big Mac's chance to bury the problem for good
OTHER - please explain

Question 3: Selig Seal of Approval?!?
It really is over. Andro was legal in 1998 - get over it!
Bud still has his head buried in the sand. What are you doing giving your blessing?!?
Allan, you idiot! You're opening Pandora's Box to more steroids scandal.
OTHER - please explain

Question 4: Outcome?
Cardinals become a great hitting team
Cardinals improve their average, but not their power
Cardinals improve their power, but not their average
Cardinals turn into strikeout artists
Cardinals tank
Big Mac wilts under the scrutiny and resigns before the season starts
LaRussa and his staff are all fired midseason
OTHER - Please explain

Say what you will about Mac, he was a good hitter, the steroids or HGH what ever gave him the strength to hit the HRs but his hand eye coordination made it possible.  If he can pass that along more power to him.

I think he is looking to give back to a sport that gave him so much.

McGwire becoming hitting coach is the second best thing that's happened to us this year! (next to signing Holliday)

He may be a good change. It seems he's helped Holliday, and he trusts McGwire. If it helps them keep Holliday, then it's obviously a smart move. I think the fans in St. Louis will warm up to having him again. I don't have much respect left for him, but I bear no ill will either, so if you're a Cardinals fan, I hope this works out for you.

Most Cardinal fans are going to welcome him with open arms, standing ovations and all of the amenities of a conquering hero can have bestowed upon him. Their love exceeds that of Barry Bonds in San Francisco, who did far worse to the sport, yet is still an idol in the Bay Area!

The question is whether this move is a solid, strategical move, or a publicity stunt. As one that has bled Cardinal Red longer than he's been alive, I hope BOTH!

Signing Mark McGwire as hitting coach is a really good thing hes gonna help improve their homeruns and rbi's in a game and theyre gonna win alot more games.
