Lightening is very impressive and beautiful. I have a lot of respect for them because when it becomes dangerous I go inside. I may be old and dumb but "I ain't stupid"! #8 \| 17 days ago cajunbuckeye (+)	Growing up in sw louisiana it was part of life to go through lightning and thunderstorms. Hurricanes thru the summer time it was wild.....i love to sit on our screened in patio and watch the weather while my wife and the boys head for the basement to ride out the storm. my sister married a man who will ride the storms out if it head north he goes to the west and south away from the worst, i got stuck riding with him so many time it was crazy. but the craziest storm i ever was in was when i was stationed in Kansas and a thunder and lighting storm came thru when we were having a battle between a infantry unit and a armor unit and i was sitting on top of a 60 ton lightning rod and they called the battle of because they didtn want the infantry to get struck with lighting never did get that thinking.......

I imagine it's good and flat so you can see the thunderhead roll in from miles away. Nothings cooler than a lot of lightning, especially when you can't hear the thunder yet. When the neighborhood is lit up in the dead of night - awesome. Tornado weather is pretty sweet. I'm not anxious to see an actual funnel, but when the weather gets still and the sky turns all kinds of strange colors, it's a very cool kind of creepy. How intensely bright it is, that if you're looking right at it, it blinds you for a second!! And how the thunder rumbles so deep, it shakes the house!! Yea, thunderstorms are sooo awesome.. #16 \| 16 days ago raja_starkglass (+)	Any storms, be it with thunder or with brains, I like them, light, so bright, lightens the minds, darkness is afraid of only light not of the thunder, for words once spilled, as sounds, get lost, but minds wake up to the space without fear or favour and head is held high.
