+3 thumbs upthe halos have very balanced team and now they have made themselves even better. barring major injuries, they should be the odds on favorite. but, they still have to win it. all teams stumble at times, just don't when the money is on the line.

+2 thumbs upI thought The Cubbies were the best team, but everytime I watched The Angels I realized that this was a team still underachieving, yet still winning, while The Cubs lose if they don't hit, The Angels win even if they don't hit. Now they are hitting and on the verge of sweeping Boston, without Tex. Yes the Playoffs are different, but they just picked up one hell of a player, with all the incentive in the world to perform.

+2 thumbs upThe move makes the Angels the team to beat in the AL, and it also doesn't hurt the chances of the Braves being the worst team in baseball.

+2 thumbs upNo question that they are the best team in the majors. They have the starting pitching (Saunders, Santana were All-Stars, Lackey probably would have been if he didn't get injured), K-Rod, play better fundamental baseball than any other team in the majors, and have easily one of the Top 5 managers in baseball. Now they add a lifetime .286 hitter with multiple Gold Gloves and a ton of power in Teixeira. Before this trade it could be questionable as to who the team to beat was, but now there's no doubt - the Angels are the best team in the majors.

+1 thumbs upThey are the favorite, even the clear favorite.   But not the odds on favorite (refer to your gambling handbook to get a clear definition of these terms).

+1 thumbs upThe Cubs aren't even the best team in their division, and not even the best team in Chicago.  They were, at one time, the best team in the NL but I'd take the Mets and Cardinals over them right now.

I'm one of the biggest Cardinal fans around but even I can see that they arent the best team in the division.  Hell, it's debateable if they are even the 2nd best team in the Central.  The Cubs have the best record in the NL, have led the division since the first month of the season and just went on the road to Milwaukee and took the first 3 games of a 4 game series.  They know lead the Central by 4 games with a nice long, homestand forth coming.  At this point, the Cubs ARE the best team in the NL

+1 thumbs upI bet it did, but since I follow the Angels I can tell you that Kotchman is a very good player.  He is not very well known yet but I think he will be in the future.  I am not sure of the minor league player you got but give Kotchman a chance you may be pleasently surprised.  I was surprised when I heard he was traded since he has been one of their biggest run producers this year and has made some pretty amazing plays at first base.

+1 thumbs upVery funny, lol, but have to say that Kotchman is a good first base player and has  been a good run producer for the Angels,  he may help them.

+1 thumbs upI'm sure they got something decent for Teixiera, but can Kotchman give them a solid performance at first, at the plate, at short, third, centerfield, give quality starts on a four day rotation, and close a game three to four times a week? If he can, I am stoked about the trade.  :-)

Have to admit he is not that all around of a player yet but he is young.  With a little training maybe he could be a one man team.

I didn't say anything about the Brewers.  The Cardinals are going to win the Central.

+2 thumbs upAs a Cubs fan, I hate to admit it.  But who could beat the Angels right now?  They already had the best record in baseball when they traded for Teixiera.  I was kind of surprised because I thought Casey Kotchman was a good 1st baseman.  But with Teixiera, they are SO much better.  I hope the Cubs don't have to face the Angels in the World Series.
